After 14 years, the remote on my Heat n Glo fireplace finally gave up the ghost. It had been getting harder and harder to use over time, despite fresh batteries in the remote itself and in the receiver box, and despite tinkering with the screw on the remote. We often had to tap or bang the remote a certain way while holding the on or off button to get it to work.

I bought this device to replace the dead remote/receiver, installed this in minutes last night, and it is working very well. The receiver box on this unit is a plug in, as opposed to the battery powered one I replaced, but I had an unused outlet under the fireplace already so there was no problem with plugging this device in. I'm thinking it will be nicer not to have to change the batteries in the receiver box like I did over the years with the old one.

I replaced a unit that came with the house that had become undependable. This unit plugged right in and works like a champ. I also like the on off switch on the receiver, which can be used to override the remote. Nice plus when the batteries in the remote are out.

The remote receiver was quick and easy to install, less than 2 minutes. It works great. I would definitely recomend
