This stand arrived yesterday, one or two days earlier than expected and just in time to put it together before the new LCD TV arrived. I've been assembling furniture, from book cases to office desks, since my college days, many decades ago. This unit is simply the easiest to assemble of any of them including the units from Denmark and Sweden. No special connectors, just dowels and screws. All holes are pre-drilled and the dowel holes are just the right size with no hammering needed. Even the large back panel uses small screws rather than the tiny nails or brads that are usually used. The whole thing went together using just a Phillips screwdriver, and from unpacking through assembling to hauling out the empty box took 45 minutes tops. The finish is excellent and the color is prefect for our living room.

We decided to go with darker accents in our living room. I wanted to replace an old oak colored particle board unit. I found this and read the reviews. I decided to go for it. I would start off with that the other reviewer was correct. This is a very shallow unit, and the inner sliding door takes up approx. 3/4" on both sides. Measure your electronics INCLUDING THE CABLES that come out of the rear. My modern electronics weren't a problem, but my old cable box was a pain. Otherwise this is a superior unit. The workmanship is excellent! The only problem was the dowel holes were wider than the dowels. Other than that, it was the easiest piece I have ever assembled, and GLORY BE no turn lock Fasteners!! It is a mix of hard wood and particle board. Only a few parts are particle, and they are very strong and dense. The finish is perfect, and is exactly what we were looking for. Also it is surprisingly light compared the one it replaced. (Particle board is way heavier than real wood). Overall I am extremely pleased with this unit. I would have given it 4.5 stars if it was possible. The Only reasons are the depth and the dowels. If I could speak with the manufacturer, I would ask: WOULD 5 MORE INCHES HAVE KILLED YOU? P.S. This unit was made in Vietnam NOT China like the matching media tower also from SEI. (It was junk compared to this)

The piece went together easily and looked perfect in our den. However, I then cleaned up some saw dust thinking it was from its construction---only to discover more saw dust in the evening and, again the next day. We have a piece that came with WOOD BEARING BEETLES!!! What a PAIN! I would like Amazon to replace the item for free. Think about what a customer would have to do to return this item! It looked nice but, who wouldv'e known it was full of bugs by looking at it! I hope Amazon steps up to the plate for their customer!

I was afraid the furniture might not live up to the pictures. I was relieved when it turned out to be a very heavy hardwood product with a beautiful modern stain. The only part that looks less than top quality is the bevel around the top surface. It is a solid resin with no wood grain. Still, several months after owning it, the piece looks just as good as new, no worn corners or anything.

The item arrived ahead of schedule and was easy enough to assemble. It took me well over half an hour, but there was nothing difficult about it. The glass and everything were packed very carefully and nothing was broken. I think they also included a few spare screws and parts, so that's always nice.

All told, this is a fantastic product at a terrific price which beats the equivalent item (Durham Media Stand, $400) at World Market. It is the perfect size for my 46" flatscreen HDTV, BluRay player, and compact stereo system (including speakers, on their sides). Five stars.

The console came with a small damaged section in the shipping box but it was well packaged and had no problems. I was able to put the entire console together by myself in about 30 minutes. The look was exactly as presented online.

I do recommend that you measure your entertainment equipment before purchasing. I didn't measure first but knew that I was going to buy a new stereo receiver (my biggest component) so I wasn't too concerned about it. Once I got it, I soon realized that the old receiver wasn't going to fit. I then went online and started searching for my new receiver only to find that most receivers won't fit into the console. I finally found one but will still need to cut out a portion of the back to have enough room for the wires.
