Item was not what I was expecting. The stain color is off from the picture and it even may be that the "wood grain" is actually a sticker, not even veneer. Screws do not hold up well in shipment, tearing insert from mantel. I would recommend seeing this item in person before purchase and picking up item in store as opposed to shipping.

We installed this stove in our log cabin as a secondary heat source. It has performed great. The thermostat control really make this stove a great deal. It will keep the cabin at an even temperature with no work from us. This is a quality stove and it looks like it was built for the cabin!

I have had this fan for more than a year and it's still quiet :) I wanted a fan to help circulate the air from one room to another when the wood stove is going, but hate noise. I am very happy with it, and would recommend it to people that are sensitive to loud fans.

Some of the hearth rugs advertised online and at local stores such as Lowes tend toward the cheap looking, but this rug's pile is as thick and good looking as many oriental rugs I've purchased over the last twenty years.

I purchased this in the reddish color and although it's a high quality rug, there's a weird "dusting" on it that won't vacuum off. Or at least it looks that way. Perfect for the front of a fireplace.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for...the size is just right and it isn't flimsy or cheap-looking. Recently had 2 hot coals fall on it (instead of my carpet!) and I was able to get them back in the fireplace and no harm was done...you can't even see where they landed on the rug. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for this type of product. Couldn't be happier.

Just got this yesterday, so haven't used it yet. It looks pretty good, other than the packaging was kind of banged up and when I opened it the bubble wrap was encased in dust. So wasn't real impressed with the packaging. Also, it has a dent in the mesh on the left side above the bar and a couple of rough spots on the top edge that need smoothing. In spite of that, it looks like it will do the job which is keeping embers off my carpet.

$100 is a lot to spend on a fire screen, but my two kids and 2 dogs cant knock it over so it is totally worth it. With soccer balls flying at it, my son using it to stand himself up, and dogs running into it, this thing has not moved and really saved us many headaches. The perfect solution to babyproofing a fireplace!

I bought this for a fireplace I was installing in a log cabin, and I figured it would be big enough. I figured wrong. While it was wide enough, it wasn't tall enough, so I gave it to my son, who has a fireplace in his house, and I haven't heard any more about it.

I have four indoor fireplaces and this is the first time I have used the Smartfuel brand. It is wonderful. It burns clean, no black sooty stuff can be seen in the flame at all. It also seems as if it burns longer than other brands I have used in the past. You can also expect to get good and very responsive customer service from the seller. I would order this product again and have kept it on my "fav" list for all future buys.

So I bought this fuel hoping to use it with my indoor little fireplace thingy, and lo and behold they sent me the wrong fuel that is not compatible with my unit. I was so bummed, especially when I realized I couldn't send it back through the post because it is considered a "dangerous/flammable" liquid. Upon contacting the company, I was delighted when they told me they would send me the correct fuel AND refund my money AND let me keep what they had already sent me. Booyah!

Once the fuel did arrive, it was pretty awesome. The cap is touted as a safety pour cap or some nonsense, but I think it just makes a mess and pours smoother without the cap. Other than that, the fuel is as advertised--no smell, no soot, and a pretty nice flame once it gets going. This is my first experience with an indoor fuel, so I can't speak to the longevity, but it doesn't seem to last too long. I get about 4 hours on almost half a bottle so it's pretty costly.

Overall though, good product and even better customer service. Will purchase from again.

This space heater is by far the best I have owned. My office is in the basement in a 17' x 11' room. There is no heat in the room, and it gets very cold. Over the past 20 years, I have owned an assortment of space heaters, but none have come close to this one. To test the space heaters, I time how long it takes to heat the room using an atomic clock that also includes the room temperature. It was 48 degrees in the office this morning. It is now 65 degrees after an hour and ten minutes. This fan-forced heater increased the temperature dramatically. To test it further, we brought the heater to our master bedroom, which is 24' x 24'. The temperature was 58 degrees when we started it here at 8:00 last night. By 10:00 it was 65 degrees in the room. We couldn't believe it. We also own Lasko oscillating fans that absolutely blow away the competition. They have a wider blade span and produce what feels like twice the breeze. We are going to purchase a couple more of these space heaters. My opinion you're not going to find a better space heater than this one.

I bought this about four months ago to keep me warm while I work in my home office. It worked great for the first two months. Then, about once in every 6 or 8 hours, it would suddenly turn off. Following the instructions that are printed on the back, I would reset it by unplugging it, waiting 10 minutes, and then turning it back on. Then it would run for another 6 or 8 hours.

However, about a month ago the time between resets became shorter and shorter, until finally it reached the point where it would only run for 10 minutes before needing another 10-minute reset. That's such a hassle that I've pretty much quit using it.

It's not completely dead. When it's plugged in, the red power light is glowing. And, as noted, it will run -and heat -for about 10 minutes before shutting off.

I see where a couple of reviewers had units that went completely dead. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had the problem I'm having, and if there is any solution (short of returning it).

I found the Lasko 6251 while looking for a small space heater. The idea was to heat the area around by more immediate work area while turning down the thermostat for the rest of the shop. I didn't want an oscillating heater, just a small and more focused unit. The Lasco is small and stays out of the way. It has a clean appearance and it is quiet. There is control of temperature and fan speed and a timer can be set for folks like me who leave and forget to turn the heater off.

The unit puts out a lot of heated air volume, even when the unit is set to low speed fan. Air flow direction is set with a small lever that controls louvers positioned in front of the heated air outlet. I have my heater in my Maine workshop set to the lowest setting and lowest fan speed and that is enough for me to work in short sleeves. Finally, great price.

This is truly a cool-touch heater. The outside of the unit never gets hot, and since I bought it for my 18mo daughter's bedroom, that is very important. Also, the tip-over sensor works great. Would be 5 stars, but it draws a lot of power, enough that it sometimes trips the breaker. However, I live in a very old house with very old breakers (the kind that are just a panel of switches on the wall) and I'm pretty sure the breakers are a bit weak. Would probably not have the same problem in a newer house.

This product meets most of the space heater needs I have been looking for: I'm using it primarily in my motorhome to reduce LP gas furnace use, and the heat outlet is at the top so I don't have to worry about my cat getting burned by a heat spot--he is shorter than the exhaust grill. The fan is pretty quiet and temp setponts are a nice advantage, but those thermostat setpoints only work on high heat "for my convenience." After my room/moho is warm I prefer to use the lower wattage setting--it is safer--but then I can't use the thermo-temperature setpoint. What were they thinking? My guess is: NOT thinking. If this is not an issue then I highly recommend this unit, especially for the price.

We bought this to use on our wood stove. The color brings a little pop to the black stove. Nice quality, so far so good.

Just FYI we ordered this along with the amazon "recommended" blue enamel steamer, but turned out the steamer was oval and not round like in the picture (at least the picture as of now). It would be nicer to have them either both be oval or both be round, but it's not the end of the world. It still looks pretty decent. This set is absolutely beautiful and will be a great addition to our family room. I wondered why is was priced much lower than the equivalent product in the "Oak" color. As I was assembling the set, I found my answer. There is a drilling error on one of the lift assembly pieces making it impossible to assemble as is. With a little common sense and a drill, I was able to quickly remedy the situation. If you're handy with a drill, do not hesitate to buy this set at a nicely discounted price.

Wow, what a quality piece. Wasn't expecting it to be as heavy as it was (shipping weight of 49lbs).

Not sure why the Birch color is so much less expensive than the Oak, but it works for me.

Ok so I had a big party in just a few days and a lovely dormant fireplace closed by pple eons b4 my time so what does a party planner do for a mid winter party! Well I ordered this, which is not the cheap, pretend heater but one step above bec there are actual flames and when you go to the trouble of easily assembling the heavy ceramic logs (the birch is beautiful, I don't know why pple would choose the oak) and light the sterno cans, its wonderful. It even gives off so much heat that we had to push it back into the fireplace. It is really neat, but proceed with caution, it is an open flame that heats things up and I have yet to be able to put out the flame wile its going which would require reaching in with something holding the top of the can. I ordered a screen for the fireplace and we will not leave it unattended and have a fire extinguisher nearby. But it looks great and just should be watched I would think. None of these things are said in manual I will add! It also pops and crackles! There is a smell that dissipates with fresh air. So always have fresh air in the room!!

This just in --it was great for the winter's party! Everyone loved it and was great to entertain around!!

We have a wood burning fireplace but I wanted something to burn clean. I put this together myself, as other reviewers have stated, the holes for the screws can be a little difficult, they are sometimes hard to line up and get the screw started even though you have the other screw in place (don't tighten them until you have both in place). It took me probably 20 minutes to get it together but once I did I was thrilled. It looks so good in the fireplace, the logs look very real and it does draw your eye to the fireplace when you come through the living room. We haven't burned it yet because we live in very hot climate but looking forward to using it this winter. The one drawback to me was they should at least include 3 cans of the fuel with it for the price because if you don't realize there is no fuel with it and plan to use it you will be disappointed. I had ordered the case however so I have some. I also got the snuffer which is kind of cheaply made, the wooden part on the handle isn't on the end of the handle so you have a very sharp piece of metal but it was very inexpensive and I think necessary for the fuel cans if you want to put them out before they burn out. All in all, a very good purchase.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This unit arrived on a cold damp grey drizzly 50 degree day that saw me spending three hours in a chilly detached garage working on a project. ( one of those days where a hot cup of tea or soup goes a long way) Assembly is quick, a simple twist of the base to install, run the cord through the provided slots and plug it in. Almost instantly the unit heated up and began driving off the chill. On low it produces a cozy orange glow, on high it's bright, and a bit glaring to be honest. It will very quickly heat up not just you, but the room. I tested the thermostat and setting it and having it cycle on and off was flawless. ( read the instructions on how to do this). I also knocked it over and tested the tip over protection, it worked instantly.

Later that evening after dinner I was listening to some soft music with a cup of tea and a book. ( just some soft background piano) My toes were cold so I turned on the heater and quickly found that listening to low music or background TV while operating the heater just wasn't going to happen. Even placed a bit farther away at the edge of the Infrareds effective range the noise still intruded. Under normal TV volume it's not that bad, but relaxing with a book and some music isn't going to work.

The flaw is that it has a constant speed fan. On high the unit pulls 1500 watts and on low it pulls 900. If the fan speed lowered 40% like the power output when switched on low it's the perfect heater, but it doesn't. (this couldn't cost more than 0.50 cents to do) I do understand the need for the fan for optimal heat output and keeping the unit cool, but you're stuck with it on high regardless of heat setting. In a bustling noisy household, commercials blaring on TV, kids running and shouting you'd hardly notice it I imagine.

But on a crisp clear evening after a long day, quietly unwinding to some soothing music, you won't want this in the room.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I expected this heater to be smaller than it is. From the photographs, I thought it would be about a foot tall. It's actually just over two feet tall and a foot wide, with a base a little over 17 inches wide.

And it does what it says -it heats a room, and you, fast! It only takes a second or two for it to come up to full heat. And that's a wonderful thing when you're trying to chase away a winter chill.

There's something about infrared heat in the way it penetrates to warm you all the way through. That's what makes a fireplace so warming. And this heater does that, plus you don't have to wait while you build a fire. You just plug it in, switch it on, and in seconds you are feeling the warmth.

There are two settings -on low the heating element has a bright, but still cozy orange glow. High has a very bright glow. A fairly quiet fan runs on both settings. There's also a thermostat. Of course the front screen gets hot, but the rest of the heater stays relatively cool to the touch.

There are lots of important safety instructions for using a room heater like this. For example, don't use an extension cord with this heater or plug it into a power strip; always plug it directly into a wall outlet. And keep the unit away from fabrics (you'll be surprised at how fast it heats up your clothes), and make sure it is set back from furniture. A brochure is included with the heater that covers this and and several other safety procedures.

The power cord on the unit measures six feet long, enough to get the heater near the center of an average 12' X 12' room and away from furniture.

Assembly is pretty much a one-step process. You just twist on the locking base and snap the power cord into its slot.

It has a carrying handle in the back, and molded-in cleats on which to wind the cord. And it is fairly light, so it is a very portable unit.

This thing's a winner.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am updating my previous review because of some major issues with the heater. After owning it for a month, it would not stay on. The thermostat is supposed to regulate the heater so it turns off and on depending on the temperature in the room. It reached a point where immediately after it came on, it would shut off again after a few seconds. Then, it would not come on at all. Amazon kindly replaced the unit but now the same thing is happening to the new one. There seems to be a problem with the thermostat and it will not work properly.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We don't often need heavy-duty heating in Arizona, but it can still get mighty chilly in the winter (or, as we had last week, during an unexpected cold snap). Ordinarily we depend on the heat pump part of the air conditioning unit for heat, except that the heat doesn't work well on the A/C at the office/bedroom side of the house. Mostly that isn't a problem since our computers and servers (let's not talk about how many many...) generate plenty to keep the offices warm. But our bedroom suite is cold, so for the past few years we have relied on space heaters. I don't want to take a shower in a room that's brrrrr 62 degrees.

These gizmos don't seem to last long, though. At least, I had to replace one a few years ago (I got a Lasko 755320 Ceramic Tower Heater in 2010, which is still cranking along). So I was particularly attracted to the Amazon Vine offer for the Bionaire BHH7522M-BM Instant Comfort Infrared Heater, which promised, "The Xpress Comfort Infrared Heater heats you and your room up quickly. This heater was designed to provide users with Instant Comfort. Within 3 seconds of turning the unit on, the heater starts to warm up users, allowing them to restore their comfort level quickly." And that, I'm pleased to report, is actually what I got.

And, since both of these are working fine, you get the advantage of a comparative review. Though really, the bottom line is that both do a very good job.

* The Lasko unit I got has the advantage of movement; the oscillation means that the heat is directed around the room, not just at ONE person's toes. (That's okay. I steal the quilt from him anyway.) But I haven't found that this makes as much of a difference with heat as it does with a cooling fan; once the heater gets the room to temperature, it's the ambient warmth you care about rather than the "huddled around the campfire" moment after you turn the thing on.

* The Bionaire is larger, which might be meaningful if you have to fit your space heater into a small space. It's on the ugly side, but I don't think that we buy these for beauty and nobody's putting the Lasko unit up for a Best Dressed award either.

* The Bionare heating element is very bright. That is, it glows enough that it serves as more than a night-light. Right now the unit is in a hallway, but it might be bright enough to be bothersome in the bedroom.

* The Bionaire controls are a bit more straightforward: no remote control (that's just another thingie for me to lose; maybe you care), just knobs. But it has only a 1-5 scale, which means you might need to fiddle with it a bit more to get the temperature just right. The Lasko lets us set it to, say, 72 degrees and it turns on and off to match that temperature. I have no idea how warm the room is with the Bionaire going.

* The Bionaire _does_ put out heat faster. With the Lasko, I find that I have to remember to turn it on 20 minutes before I want to go into the bedroom to shower. I haven't done a full side-by-side comparison (sorry, friends, but I'm not that dedicated), but the Bionaire does feel as though the room gets warmer a little faster. That sounds like a meaningful advantage, except that once I have a space heater going, it just generally stays on. The length of time from "Brrrrr" to "nice and toasty" isn't that big of a deal.

* Noise-wise, I think they're about equal. They aren't precisely quiet, but it's a "fan" noise that just becomes background white noise.

What I can't tell, without more research, is whether there's a meaningful difference in power consumption between the two units. Does that "instant comfort" mean a higher electric bill? I'm not motivated to play with the numbers since, honestly, a relatively high heating bill in Arizona is nothing in comparison to my air conditioning costs. (Don't ask. Really.) That isn't where I pinch my pennies. But you might think about it.

Both are good. Both do what they promise. If I were to buy only one, though, my vote would tip slightly towards the Lasko unit. First, it's a little cheaper; second, I appreciate the ability to set the temperature and let it adjust on its own. That's just a mild preference, though. You won't go wrong with either choice.

Want Bionaire BHH7522M-BM Instant Comfort Infrared Heater Discount?

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a nice big infrared heater with a fan and uses ~900 Watts on low setting, so you'd expect the heat output to be significant. But it's not, I can sit 2 feet from it in a 60 degree room and am barely warm, not hot. The fan is somewhat noisy but doesn't blow the warm air very far.

It has two controls, one thermostat knob (not marked with any particular temperatures), and one off/low/high knob. The thermostat controls at what temperature the heater will come on, so turn the knob if you're cold and you want more heat. But the thermostat needs work, the heater will turn on for only 5 or 10 seconds sometimes, the air gets warmer and then it turns back off. There needs to be a minimum time it will run once triggered, maybe 2 to 3 minutes at least.

The construction is plastic but seems solid enough. It's fairly understated and won't really stand out in a room. The heater element and front grate is of course metal. The top where the controls are is concave, which is an odd choice and seems like it would accumulate dust.

The heater will turn off if tipped, even a little bit. That's a safety feature, not a big deal.

Overall the heater works well but the fan is fairly noisy and doesn't seem to project the heat very far. It might heat a room but only a small one and at the 1,500 watt setting.
