Once you get it together it looks and works great. The instructions are horrible and we had to cut the metal brackets that hold the fire place to the hearth. They were to big and the hearth would not sit flush around the insert otherwise. Also you need to build the hearth around the fireplace insert. There is absolutely no way to insert it and put the brackets on it after the hearth is built. So before you put the top part of the hearth on, install the fireplace part and then finsh by adding the top piece.

The heater works great and the "fire" is very authentic looking. The cabinet was the perfect color. Was not difficult for my husband to put together. It is very heavy, though. He had to have help to get it upstairs.

I'm so excited to come home to my Media electric fireplace which brings a cozy, warm and relaxed feeling to my bedroom. The dark brown espresso color adds a nice touch to my bedroom furniture which is also dark brown. After you assemble all the parts together that took almost 45 minutes, you will definitely see your moneys worth. It took almost two weeks for it to be delivered in two parts. The mantel and then the fireplace w/remote control. I panicked when I only received the mantel and didn't see the fireplace which was delivered later that day. It took the manufacturers to tell me that there are two deliveries. If there are any questions or concerns, please call the manufacturers directly. Trust me...you wont be sorry.

I love this fireplace but there are 2 manuals (one for the wooden parts and one for the fireplace itself). Given that they are separated we started with the one related to the wooden parts and we missed one step of the second manual, hence we had to disassemble or just keep going. We just kept going (we skip the step that prevents the fireplace itself from being pulled, so we hope nobody want to pull it :).

Other than that I do not have major complains but feel very warm in winter.

I was really excited to receive this item. I saw it listed on other sites for a much higher price, so I decided to go with this seller. The item arrived in three separate packages. Which was great since I am a single woman and wouldn't be able to lift one whole box. Setup was fairly easy. Its just a bunch of screws and brackets. It took be about an hour to assemble. The thing that I am not happy about is the quality of the wood (its cheap particle board crap), and how it looked once assembled. There are alot of gaps in areas where pieces of wood should sit flush against each other. There are also gaps around the fireplace, so it looks ridiculous when I turn a light on in my living room, and it shines through the gaps. I have to put black duct tape to fill the gaps so this won't happen. Also, its not very sturdy. Once I had it assembled, I used furniture gliders to move it to the right place, and I had to be really careful because the wood would shift around as I pushed/pulled it. I don't think this thing will last long, but the fireplace is beautiful for it being electric.

Product is not a complete system. This is for the outdoor condenser, indoor air exchanger, condensate drip line, mounting hardware, remote, and NO copper line set for refrigerant. This is very disappointing because manual shows parts INCLUDING line set.

Everything else is included but the line set. Without it, there is no refrigerant circulated to the outside unit and therefore, no cool air. If you purchased a Computer with a hard drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor and it was missing the memory, you would probably feel the disappointment that I feel.

The system was promptly shipped in two well packed boxes and arrived with amazon prime speed safely to my front door.

3.

The seller promptly contacted my email and explained why he didn't include the line set, but at one time did. He sells the complete package on ebay, so my request was for him to send me the line set.

No good. After a quick exchange over the phone, he is unwilling to complete my order, unless I want to purchase a set for $150!

He did offer a refund upon return. At $40 shipping to me and another $40 return, it is cheaper for me to order the missing line set than return. I found 25' connection set for $65 with free shipping on ebay, so I will order and install the system.

This mini split system showed up in three different packages, and one of them included the tubing/wiring/connections, etc. That was an unexpected surprise, and makes the price we paid an even greater value.

We haven't hooked it up yet, as we are remodeling the room it will go in, but it looks exactly as we expected. I will review again once we hook it up.

If you have a BIG mess with soot, call a Pro but for smaller areas, this eraser does very well. Eraser? smells and feels like one and does well for awhile until it loads up and then all your doing is smearing the soot all over the place. There's no way to avoid the problem except to have several clean sponges on hand then wash'em and let them dry-real dry. The product does what it says. Just buy more than one.

This product works well for removing soot from a wood burning stove off of the walls and ceiling. I do not wash and reuse so I cannot comment to how well that works. Does the job for older popcorn ceiling when painting is not a good option.

We bought a house with 30+ years of soot build up on the front of the fireplace and based on the other reviews, I figured this wasn't going to work on that much of a mess. It was cheap, so I went ahead and bought it. It shipped that day and I had it the next! I immediately tried using it and it's like a miracle eraser. I LOVE IT! I make one swipe and all the soot comes off! It's seriously awesome. There are a few really black spots left that I'm going to have to use something else on, but for 95% of the build up, this sponge worked wonders! I ordered this fireplace as a heater for my massage office and to add to the ambiance. I am so happy I did. It is really beautiful, warms the room up nicely and is surprisingly realistic. I have only had it a couple days so I can't speak to the longevity. The only thing is I wish it made the crackling sound of a fire, but what I did was put a couple crackling candles (by woodwick) on top, which make the sound and give the illusion that the sound is coming from the fireplace. The fan is pretty quiet and you can adjust the height and brightness of the "flames."

When you get one of these little electric things for you house you want it to look as least-cheesey as possible despite it being A) Plastic and B) Faux, the best way to get there is by having the sides of these unites not be flat yucky black plastic. This one has the "vintage" looking mesh wire, and is open on the sides. It looks MUCH nicer with the open sides. I've been super happy with it. It's by our kitchen table by the back door and keeps our feet warm in the morning, my 3yo thinks its a real fire and if all the lights are off in the house it does feel quiet real. We love it. I like the 2 separate heat settings, and the ability to have it on with no heat.

Just received this heater. Paid $51. with shipping for it from a reputable source with 30 day returns. Looked it over and have it running full tilt currently. My impression is that it is worth a few bucks more than some of the cheaper plastic heaters. It's about all steel on the exterior and heavy to be so smallvery small. Like the rest, it's made in China but it looks fairly well made. It has a tilt shut off safety that kills the power when the unit tilts about 45 degrees or more to the front or rear but not when it tilts to either side. Claims to also have a thermal safety. Seems to be putting out plenty of intense heat at 1500 watts. It's fan forced heat so it does make the typical noise of a fan forced heater... If you want something quiet, get an oil filled radiator type space heater (my favorite type for safety). It's UL LISTED. If it should fail or act up, will update this review.

Jan 22, 2011, Due to its small size, the outer metal housing does get fairly hot in places. Would not place it on a flammable surface other than wood or tile, etc. It's still working fine. The thermostat control is hypersensitive when it's running hard and hot on the high setting. Sometimes it will turn off and on much too rapidly. Otherwise, it works fine.

Summer 2012: My only complaint is that the thermostat control is hypersensitiveit will cycle heater off and on too fast when it gets room warm. Could have a unit with a defective thermostat. It still gets the job done. Per the reviews I read before this purchase, one should be prepared to return this heater if he receives a bad one. Think a lot of the negative reviews are simply bogus.

Dec 20 2012: The silly Chinese thermostat is working more like it ought to now. Upped my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Would buy another one like this if I needed it.

Jan 2013: Purchased another one for 51.29 with shipping. May get another RV in the future. Two of these small heaters would be just right for a RV to avoid using onboard LP gas... The thermostat on the second one is somewhat sensitive like the first one but they put out heat. When it's cold, that's what matters. The thermostats just cycle off and on more rapidly than most portable heaters.

March 2013: Purchased a third one. Therefore, this must be a decent heater in my picky opinion. They are versatile little heaters that don't take up much space. Upped my rating from four stars to five. It's a good little heater. Being so small is an appealing factor to me. Saw the thermal safety work once on the first one I bought. Had the airflow blocked partially. The red caution light came on and the heater shut down to cool...

Have them rigged on power strips to use in whatever rooms are occupied so it'll be toasty only where needed while maintaining the overall home at a lower, more energy efficient temperature.

The safety features are kind of pain, but when it comes to lighters that seems to be the way it is. That being said, I got EXACTLY what I thought I was going to get, and for this price, I think the lighter is great. Finding a lime green one was one of the main reasons I chose this particular one. It's consistent, feels good in the hand, has a very usable flame, (although it is not torch-like, perhaps what some prefer),

and again, is pretty much what you should expect for the money. I'd give it a 5/5 stars, but it's a pretty generic lighter. I certainly wouldn't go down to 3 stars for any reason. A very good, utilitarian lighter that does it's job. Get one!

I don't normally do a lot of product reviews but after standing out in pouring rain over my gas grill trying to balance the umbrella while attempting to get this thing to start, I'm motivated to help others avoid a badly designed product.

Possibly the 'safety button' you are required to press before pulling the trigger to light the device is government mandate. For the sake of the engineers who designed this disaster, I hope so, because it is a terrible feature. It jams and prevents you from pressing the trigger. I'm a fit and mechanically inclined guy, but this morning I just couldn't get the thing to light in ~10 min of attempts. In the 3-4 previous instances I've used the lighter since the grill starter went bad, I've had similar difficulty but could always get it to work. Not today. No way an elderly or young person is going to be able to use it. Back to the drawing board Scripto. There has got to be a better way. In the meantime I will experiment with any and all other brands.

This could be a really great piece, but the construction quality is incredibly shoddy. The welds are messy, the tile looks cheaply put together. I have owned this fire pit for three years. It has performed well, but its looks have deteriorated. I have to paint the firescreen cover every year with heat resistant paint. the ceramic pieces are starting to chip. Nice size firepit though. I replaced an old open flame ceramic gas type unit with the Kozy World KWN191 18,000-BTU Vent-Free Natural-Gas Infrared Wall Heater. The heater is located in a two car garage. I expected a marked improvement in air flow by using the fan. Unfortunately, the fan doesn't have much power and is hardly noticeable in pushing warm air from the unit. I thought also that it might help circulate oxygen to the Cozy unit and thus keep the O2 sensor from shutting the unit down... again not much discernable difference. Since the O2 sensor cuts off the Kozy heater if you turn it up to the higher BTU levels the thermostat control that should turn the fan on and off as needed never comes into play. Not worth the $35+ paid for and for no more than what it is, should have came with the unit already mounted. The mounting was easy but again for the cost--should have came mounted right out of the box. I would have been better off to bought (4) box fans from Wal-Mart @ $10 each to move the warm air and to circulate fresh air to the unit. Shipping from BIC Superstore was fast but the charge was high to TN.

It helps spread the heat around, but not very well. The thermal sensor seems quite slow to respond to the heater also. It takes several minutes after the heater ignites to the fan turning on and the same when the heater turns off. All in all, my ceiling fan does a better job of spreading the heat out than this fan does. If you need a fan for your heater get a cheap box fan.

I agree with the other reviews that the fan is not powerful. But I do notice a difference when running the fan vs not running it. The heat seems to get to the other side of the room quicker, even if I don't feel a lot of air being blown out of the heater. The fan has its own thermostat, so it waits for the heater to get hot before turning on, then it remains on after the heater turns off, until the heater cabinet has cooled down.

It has a 3 position switch Off, Manual (always on) and Automatic (thermostat control).

Installation is simple. Just remove the 4 screws in the metal plate on the back of the heater, discard the plate, shove the blower in, then secure with the same 4 screws. No wires to hook up. The blower has an AC cord already installed. The blower works completely independently from the heater. If your power goes out, you can still use the heater without the blower.

I'd rate it 5 stars if the blower was more powerful.

Approaching this product you may be hesitant, given its lower price than other fireplace covers. Having obtained one, I can say that it is well made: heavy with strong magnets, and certainly does the job. I'm pleased with it, and glad that I didn't spring for one that costs more but would be no more effective. Go for it!

This was the answer to when the fire is dying down at night but still has embers burning. It was not possible to close the damper so the open flue, of course, sucked the hot air out of the house. Now, we just put the blanket on the fireplace and it keeps the house much warmer.

The fabric is substantial and continues to look good after using the blanket for awhile. The magnets make it incredibly easy to use.

Ok if you've found this product you know exactly what you're looking for and this will likely fit the bill.

A neighboring farmer had many of these when I was a kid in the late 1970s.

At one time, they were in every flea market I visited.

But like so many treasures of my youth the heavy galvanized pails with the unique shape had disappeared while I was busy in suburbia.

After years of complaints from my wife about using "ugly" Spackle pails (white plastic 5 gallon pails) I recalled the Hod and found it quickly on Amazon.

This one is thinner than the Hods of my youth but it's perfect and works as intended (no moving parts so it isn't really that difficult to meet my expectations on this item.)

More importantly we have returned to marital bliss as the "ugly" Spackle pails remain in the garage while the new Hod has the spotlight on the fireplace hearth.

It's also great for ashes and starter twigs.

If you need something like this just order it... you won't be upset.
