I purchased this heater from Menard's last winter and it saw fairly regular use for about 3 months. I got it out about a month ago and have used it only a few times and today it wouldn't work at all. We enjoyed the radiant heat that it put out when it worked, but I was disgusted that we didn't even one year out of it. After reading some of the other reviews, I decided to open up the controls and see if I could find out why it failed. I immediately noticed that the connections to the "tip-over" switch were burned, the wires were discolored, and the switch was melted slightly where the wire terminals entered the switch housing (see the picture that I included in the gallery). I bought one of these heaters about 10-years ago. Exact same appearance still, not complaining. I primarily used it to heat my 2-car attached garage non-stop for 9-years. It kept the cars interiors warm and engines started easily. It lasted exactly 10-years, but the cheap 15-amp outlet I plugged it into last winter melted and destroyed the plug\cord with it. So I broke it down and threw it away. I have since replaced the outlet with a 20-amp model (NEMA 20R). I will buy another one of these heaters soon for this winter. I already owned an oil heater that generally looks like this, one that has been very good for a few years, heating a bedroom plus adjoining bathroom. However, this Comfort Zone product that I recently bought is not adequate. I am trying to get it to warm up one room (30DegF outside), but here I sit in a fleece jacket and coat while typing this, and the heater has been in the center of the room for an hour with the dial turned all the way up. I bought two of these heaters one year ago, to the month. They worked well, producing heat without being overly hard on the electrical bill, throughout our Maine winter last year, which was a comparatively mild winter. We began using them again a few weeks ago, but one of them quit working yesterday. It was working, and then it wasn't. It doesn't even light up when turned on and yes, I've checked the electrical socket. In comparison, I have a Lakewood oil-filled heater that I bought more than eleven years ago and, while the wheel assembly has let me down, the heater itself still works great. I am rating it three stars because one of our heaters is still working, although I don't know for how long, and because they do work well as long as they are working. I expect to get more than a year out of it, though.

I bought this popper because I wanted "more authentic movie theater style popcorn" than microwave popcorn. This product has exceeded all my expectations. It is a very sturdy machine, and significantly less expensive than comparable poppers. I love my popcorn machine purchased from Discount Tommy's. First of all, it makes delicious popcorn that makes watching movies or just hanging out playing pool with friends and family a blast. We use the pre-packaged popcorn with butter/oil and it really is as good as movie-theater popcorn. Next, the machine looks great out on display and is relatively easy to clean. Most importantly for me, the customer service from Discount Tommy's has been phenomenal. A few months after we bought our machine, the turning mechanism was getting stuck. We tried to trouble shoot but didn't have any luck. I emailed customer service and after sending them a picture of the trouble part, they immediately sent out a replacement at no charge. This fireplace looks beautiful and was very easy to install. It provides good heating and ambiance. Having the remote control makes it even more convenient. It's hard to tell that it's not a gas flame-fireplace because the flames are realistic.This fireplace is great... curved glass front makes it very sleek. Love that you can have the flames with no heat. Only downfall would be the blower being on the top. I always want to sit in front of it for heat, but it doesn't quite work that way. All in all, great product!Beautiful fireplace, easy to install, the only thing I wish was different is the heat comes out the top, I think I would like it better if it came out the front, but I would highly recommend this fireplaceLove it! The firepit took a little while to arrive (sorry...Amazon Prime did not help), and an excellent price thru Amazon. This thing came by a real freight truck, as this sucker is palletized and boxed. So huge, I couldn't even get the pallet through our gate. You need tools to break this baby out and my wife and I had to move it vertically on a furniture dolly to get it in the backyard. Not a lightweight piece, but not unmanageable once in place. I can easily tilt it up on one edge by myself. But I won't move it by myself. Ordered a brand new fireplace from Southern Enterprises along with a case of Fireglo. The fireplace is fantastic, the fuel not so much. The first time we lit it my wife and younger son nearly moved out. We had to open all the windows and air out for awhile. I read somewhere that you should break in a new fireplace to get rid of the smell, so with everyone gone I lit the gel. First time it was terrible, next day still terrible, the next I couldn't take it anymore. It literally smelled like car exhaust, even with just one can burning. Hard headed to a fault I refused to send the fireplace back. Instead I purchased a reasonably priced bio-fuel burner from Amazon and converted to purified bio-ethanol. First light it was fantastic! No smell, great fire, great warmth! It does lack the crackle of gel, but I'll take that any day over no smell. I read a bunch of people touting Sunjel and bought a case. Well it was a very big disappointment. My average FireGlo can burns 2.5 hours with a few burning almost 3 hours. Of the 24 cans of Sunjel I had, only one made it to 2.5 hours. I tend to start a can or two at the top of the hour, so I always notice the burn time. From now on I will be sticking with FireGlo Gel. My only issue I have with FireGlo is with the smell... it isn't very strong and my wife doesn't even smell it. I grew up with a wood fireplace and feel the smell goes with the whole fireplace experience.

I did pretty extensive research before buying an electric kettle. The CPK-17 appealed to me on a few different levels. I liked the design, the materials used and the functionality. Although it's nice to have the option of different temperature settings, it's really only useful if you drink a lot of tea, which I don't. I generally use the "French Press" and "Keep Warm" settings, and there's also a Boil option (which is the next setting up from French Press). On the design side, it's a great looking appliance made from mostly stainless steel. Of course a big concern of mine is the use of BPA-leaching plastic in many kettles on the market, but there appears to be none on the interior of the CPK-17. The water level, as far as I can see, is covered with another sheet of steel. The only non-steel component I see on the kettle's interior is a silicone nub near the bottom, which nearly all kettles have and which are also heat-resistant. Another thing I like about the CPK-17's design is the 360-degree swivel capability of the kettle while resting on its heating element. And of course, the illuminated water level (on when the kettle is in use) is very attractive a nice soft blue color. The pouring spout is perfectly-shaped which makes for a fool-proof pour every time. In terms of functionality, the CPK works exactly as advertised. I love this little electric fireplace heater. The fan makes it even better than the oil filled radiator type in many cases because the heat gets distributed so much better. Looks great. The only negative is the bulb for the 'fire' seemed way too hot so I took it out and replaced it with a smaller wattage (maybe 7 watts) so the back wouldn't get so hot.
