I bought this fireplace to use outside on my pool patio. We had a chiminea out there, but it made so much smoke and I couldn't enjoy the ambiance of the fire because of the smoke blowing in the face. I bought this and a case of the gel cans which produce no smoke at all!. It was easy to hang. We used it many times in the cooler months and it was awesome. It is really for someone who just wants the effect of a fire burning. It does not really produce much heat. Very romantic for the evening hours. It's very light and quite easy to install. I would suggest that you place a strip of masking tape on the back to trace out the mounting holes. remove the masking tape and place on the wall , then just drill through the tape. The manufacturer's description "copper finish" and photos led me to believe it was copper color. It isn't. It has no shine and is a dull bronze shade of painted steel. I bought it at a retailer with an "O", returned it, and wrote a negative review, but they must censor reviews as it was never published by them. I can see Amazon publishes negative reviews and I thought this was a way to get the word out. The good news is I bought the stainless steel version instead and it is beautiful and much more solidly constructed.

Wow! I have been drooling over this fireplace for two years. It was very expensive, but I had to have it! I can't believe I found it on Amazon two weeks ago for only $449 for the stainless steel finish. Most sites offer it from $600-800. It arrived timely, and was packaged well. We ordered this fire pit table last week and it arrived promptly. It took us approx. 45 minutest to put together, and it started right up. We've sat around it every evening since then. Got this back in late June 2013. Went together just fine, but it didn't work for me right away. I found out after calling the company that you can't turn on t propane on more than one turn, otherwise it will vapor lock (or something like that). Once I got that figured out, it worked fine. UNTIL I had to change our the tank. When that happened, I grabbed my tank from my grill (which was nearly full and working fine). Result: couldn't get it started. Tried all kinds of things, contacted the company 3 times, went through their recommendations over the phone, still didn't work. We have no idea why. So they ordered a replacement part in the ignitor system. It's been backordered for over 2 months. I asked if I could just replace the whole bowl system which includes the ignitor. Nope, it's also backordered. Of course, this is the nice time of year to use the fire pit and it still doesn't work. Not happy at all. Overall, it was OK when it worked (even if finicky), but this is ridiculous. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend purchasing this item.

Picked up this last year for the December muzzleloading season to use in my ground blind. I have a pop-up type blind and in 15 deg. temps it kept me warm enough to stay in the woods all day. This heater was very difficult to light. I had to hold the button down for at least 2 minutes before it would stay lit. I like the idea of the tip over sensor, but if I picked it up, move it 6", then set it down, it would shut off. Then another 2 minutes waiting to light. If you don't mind these two shortcomings, the plus side is that it puts out a lot of heat.
