I paid $187 and I have a "repaired" fireback.
I guess someone else returned it, or they just messed this one up, and someone repaired it w/ putty or caulk.
Looks like junk, even tho' I paid full price!

M.I. via their website, but no response.

This ain't rocket science...the only way you screw this up is getting the wrong size for your fireplace. Quality, thick construction should last longer than your house. I burn a fire every night in winter and this definitely protects the back as it was designed to do....500 years ago.It reflects a decent amount of heat, but it did not "wow" me, hence not 5 stars. I have not tried other fire backs though so it might be that my expectations were unreasonable.This product came very quickly and so far has lived up to its description. Seems very solid, and does radiate heat back into the room.
