The directions say to not use this as the first fire of the season, so after a few fires I used this one. It seems to do the job. It does make some unusual smells (fumes) that you can smell outside, so I recommend using this in the mid-day while people are not home.

We use our fire place insert 24/7 from early Nov. through late March. I've been using the Chimney Sweeping Logs as per the instructions (every 60 fires) for 8+ years. I clean and inspect my chimney every fall, but there's always little or no creosote. This product actually does remove and prevent further creosote build up! It gives me great peace of mind to be able to leave my family at home alone and not have to worry about chimney fires.

I received the product in time as scheduled. The product seemed to work as advertised... Not sure really. I recommend doing anything that promotes safety and this is a relatively low cost way to promote safety.
