I originally bought an ecofan original but it needed over 400*F to work well so I returned it. The gs model starts moving air at much cooler temps and is useful for my kerosene heaters, nordic pot stove and even (carefully) on an aladdin kerosene lamp with the bug guard and some barstock spacers to maintain draft. So stick an oven thermometer on your heating appliance to determine your needs.

The quality (fit and finish) of the fan was very high. It was well packaged to prevent damage during shipping by the manufacturer.

To enable you to compare your application to my experience, I have a Jotul Propane Gas Stove that is made from cast iron, glass front to view the flames and a vented top to guide the hot air into the room. I asked for this fan as a Christmas gift to help push the heated air into the room.

My experience was that no matter where or how I placed the fan on the top of the stove, the fan blade NEVER rotated! I tried front and rear, corners, back edge, ..... basically all possible locations. The fan blades never moved. I checked the temperature of the stove with a Fluke IR thermometer and it was well within the lower and uppoer temperature limits specified for the fan.

Therefore, I had to give it ONE star since it never worked even though it is manufactured very well. I returned the fan to amazon.

LOVE IT!!!!!

I purchased this unit based upon the heat range, 150-300F We have a free standing oil drip stove (EFEL, Harmony) and it is the only heat source for our cabin in Kodiak AK.

Within hours receiving unit we could feel the differance, the fan not only looks good it WORKS!! You can feel the light breeze on bare skin and although the air it moves is not "Hot" it does move the air around the stove, increasing the radient heat throught the house.

Lots of warning's about using this unit on wood stoves or any type that gets above 300F, so make sure of your heat range!!

this ia a great item I only wih it put out more cubic feet on air, you really need atleast 2. Be very mindfull of the heat limits over heating this item will break it, this item is NOT for wood burning stoves

I have owned this fan for three years and it works perfectly. When the stove temperature gets above 100F degrees it automatically begins working. The hotter the stove, the faster the fan spins. The technology which converts heat to electrical energy is fascinating. No power cords or batteries. Great fun and practical to send warm air into the room.
