It did everything I expected. I'm glad I didn't buy one of the fancy ones. My only regret is not buying a bigger one, we have a HUGE fireplace. Just measure first and you'll be good.
It definitely pushes the heat out of the fireplace so you don't have to crouch right next to it to enjoy the heat.

We bought this fireplace haet shield for our fireplace as recomended by the company that cleaned our chimney.this was way cheaper than any store we shopped at locally.
It is very well made.
