I learned about these grates last year and asked Santa for one for Christmas. He came through and I installed it Christmas night (install is a bit of an overstatement SO easy to get set up). I really cannot believe what a huge difference it made in terms of heat output. The heat was the reason I wanted the grate we often had fires, but the amount of heat they generated was so minimal, the fire was more decorative than useful. Now we have a fire that heats and looks beautiful. I've also noticed a dramatic reduction in the smoke smell in the house when the fire is going. I could not be more pleased with this product.
