I purchased this along with the gel fuel a little over a year ago because it was too hard to open and close my fireplace flue and am so glad I did, this product adds such nice ambience and even throws off a small amount of heat. I've held several parties since I've had it and no one realized that it was "fake" until I told them; now my neighbors want it also instead of carting in wood or fake logs. I use this every night during the cold weather and love it, the dancing flames and occasional pop of the fire changes the whole atmosphere of the room, I just peel the label off the can, shake it up and light it; as long as I do those things there is not any bad smell.
