Bought this item to complete the range hood that I purchased at Lowes. This item should be included in the box with the hood but I guess the company just assumes that most people will properly exhaust the hood.

Ordered 2 of these and they came packaged well. I have a non-ducted vent hood and I replaced the regular filter with this one. Haven't use it with grease or anything major yet so can't say how well it filters the impurities.

I bought this for my Kenmore range hood. It arrived in a timely fashion. It also arrived damaged. The peripheral frame was dented in multiple areas causing the filter to not lie flat. I bent the frame back to near-normal so it would eventually fit.

The company shipped the filter inside an ordinary piece of corrugated cardboard folded over like an envelope. The edges didn't even meet. So, why wouldn't the filter arrive bent?

The bigger concern I have is how this filter was constructed. Past filters, bought elsewhere, were made thusly:

--outer layer: multiple layers of aluminum mesh

--middle layer: charcoal filter

--inner layer: one layer of aluminum mesh

The filter I got was missing the innermost layer. This means only the peripheral, and damaged, frame would be holding the charcoal filter in place and preventing it from being sucked into the hood's fan. I thought this too risky and ditched the entire filter. I didn't bother with a return because it would not have been cost-effective.
