This product includes a thermostat and thermal fuse. Even though I only needed to replace one, I followed the recommendation of replacing them both After three days the thermal fuse (silver and white component) failed and appeared fried. Fortunately this was not the part that required repacing and I was able to re-installed the original. The replaced thermostat though continues to work great. Thank goodness this was the part that actually required relacing. Had I really needed to replace the thermal fuse my review would have been only 1 star. So if you actually need this thermal fuse component, I'd look elsewhere.Buy Replacement Whirlpool, Sears, Kenmore Dryer Thermostat Kit 279769 Now
Not exactly what I replaced, but my dryer works again. So far so good...house has no burned down. I will update if that happens...or try to.UPDATE: Thermal fuse blew out probably less than 20 loads since I installed it.

The price on these thing runs from $4 to $50 !!! This one fit perfectly. Both thermostats come in the kit, one was an exact replacement, the other was close but not the same. so be careful. I only needed the exact one . so I just tossed the the other.
