I was looking for a desktop fan with a compact footprint.

I checked out the Vornado Flippies, of which only two were on display in my local store, one a little $20 model and the other a fancy $70 model with remote control. The $20 unit didn't move enough air for my purposes, and the $70 model was a bit pricey for the function. And why does one need a remote control for a personal fan to be used within arm's length any way?

Then I saw this little Lasko, and it filled the bill. Totally silent in operation, providing sufficient air output for a desktop fan, and priced right at under $25. With oscillation and the unique twist design, which lets you broaden or narrow the air flow as suits your purpose, both thrown in for good measure.

The Lasko offers three speeds, but I will probably use high speed most of the time.

The build quality appears to be good, with a robust power cord and illuminated push buttons controlling on/off/fan speed and oscillation.

So if you're looking for an effective but unobtrusive desktop fan, I think you're good to go with this Lasko. I'll report back if I encounter any problems...

I have used many fans on my desk at work and have found this fan to be the best. The oscillation feature is nice but not necessary since the airflow produced is more than adequate. Very pleased about the little noice it makes even on the highest setting and the small amount of space it takes up is great.

Having the two segments that distribute air in different directions is pretty neat as is the oscillating feature. However, the wife just uses it with each segment pointed at her with no oscillation as a little bedside personal fan. She is pleased with it.

I had two criteria when searching for a fan for my desk at work. One: It blew at least a little bit of air; and Two: It was quiet. This fan has more than met my expectations! Even on high, it is quiet! I barely notice it is there. At the lowest setting, it provides enough air to make it more than comfortable in my office. I am delighted! So much so, that I immediately junked my old Holmes fan, which barely produced air at a very loud noise level! And that was just on low! On high, it was even louder and still no air!

This Lasko is a wonderful piece of equipment! It is nice looking, too! I highly recommend this fan!

My desk fans seem to go walkaboutbut so far I haven't minded sharing. This fan I plan to keep under lock and keyit's a treasure!

I've had the round blade turbos and the slimlines that have all been touted as 'quiet' this little guy truly is. I really only feel the air moveI don't hear the fan. It's so quiet I've been able to put it next to my bed. And often I really want just a gentle air at night, the lowest setting is perfect for that.

But if I want more air I crank it up and get a decent output. Best of all I put it on oscillate, and twist the top and bottom so that I get better spread of air, yet it's more frequently on me

Overall this is a great little fan for the money!
