I picked this up at Menards for an unbelievably great price and am very happy with it. This unit is very lightweight and easy to move around the house. It warms up my bedroom and the simulated fireplace is cozy as can be. We have an older house with lots of antiques and the look of this model fits in perfectly. Prior to this, we used a space heater. I miss the immediate heat that those offer, but appreciate the steady heat. I was constantly turning the space heater off and on and could never feel comfortable, either freezing or way too hot. This one can be left on for hours and warms the room without scorching anything. So far, so good. I would recommend this heater. I can not imagine it heating 800 square feet as advertised, but for a bedroom, it's great.

We live in a small home, so this heater was great in keeping us toasty while watching TV, it's not direct heat blowing at you but subtle warmth and eventually heats the room. It also helped to have on at nights, with just 500 watts to cut down the cost of propane because the house gets cold esp in winter and we'd have to run the heater to keep the house at 62/63 degrees. perhaps this stove would heat an 800 square foot room with 7 ft ceilings, but does not do that good a job with 400 sq ft with 12 ft ceilings..it is attractive, but only gives out about the same amount of heat as the one i bought at the local hardware store for $49...it produces plenty of heat up close, but i think maybe a little more powerful fan would help..it is okay , just do not feel it is worth $107Read Best Reviews of Lifesmart Quartz Infrared Freestanding Antique Stove Heats 800 Square Feet Here
I bought this because I heard that infared heaters were more cost effective. Then I learned that this little heater would heat an 800 sqft room. this is not true at all.. I got more heat from my little space heater than i do this thing. i have to actually put this thing ontop of a table to feel any heat out of it within the room. otherwise it would be a very expensive foot warmer but your feet would have to be just a few feet away from this to feel the warmth. I was sooo stoked when i got this until i realized that i can barely even take the bite out of the cold living room. So i put it in my bedroom. we froze all night.
