The actual dimensions are 8"x10"x14". The box it came it doesn't even measure 12" as advertised. I took photos if you want see what it actually looks like with a ruler around it. While the packaging was a bit scant, the ITEM is great. It is just as described and I restate that because it sticks out in my head that someone else complained that is is so small .. the dimensions are listed .. it is great. It holds an attractive amount of the fat-wood .. the 4 pounds that it came with is almost its limit but since fat-wood is AWESOME that's plenty for several fires. It is great for my space, frankly I need more space for my firewood so if this was larger it would be displacing room for the real workhorse of keeping me warm! The only con I can see is the mesh part could be a tighter weave so less debris falls out but frankly my cat and my firewood make more of a mess! I recommend this for smaller spaces.hearths.
