This firepit does a great job with making a good fire, it puts out a ton of heat.

Make sure you buy a cover, it will rust very quickly without one.

I was dissapointed with how fast and bad it rusted.

I like having this fire pit, and the piece was easy to put together and very sturdy. My only complaint is that the mesh top and handle rusted in the space of a few weeks. The company should have used a rust-resistant finish on it.

Pros: Attractive, heavy construction, has a grate to hold the firewood about 1" off bottom of bowel, legs screw in very securely.

Cons: Tubular metal ring (around top edge) comes in four pieces, each piece having a metal plate for attaching to the fire bowel via four screws. The top left nut on each of the four pieces was easily stripped out during assemble, leaving the metal ring 75% secured to the fire bowel at each point. However, the remaining three screws are quite secure. Enough that I am not going to send it back. Besides, I don't think the ring in intended to be a carry handle for a fire bowel full of wood.

Note: Does not come with a long handled lid lifter for removing the metal screen when hot. Will need to purchase that separately.

This item rusted (without rain) in the first week (screen cover and interior of the pit), the screen doesn't fit terribly well, and the finish is not nearly as nice as pictured. Ok item in terms of functionality, but certainly not great.

Decent fire pit although some of the "oil rubbed" looks like oil spilled. Screen dome does not fit properly (diameter of dome does not fit diameter of pit so unless you get it just right, it falls in). Waiting for written confirmation from Blue Rhino customer service that a new screen will be sent (per telcon, it wasn't going to be an issue. Blue Rhino did want a e-copy of my receipt and photos. I have know the email was received by them, but haven't received a "read" receipt yet). Had no trouble assembling any part of the pit. Decided the handle looked like a space ship so took it off. Will not burn anything until we find out what is happening with the dome. Will provide update at that time. Note: the cover Amazon promotes for this pit does not cover it as shown in the photo. At least 6 inches of the body is exposed. Is it a poor match or is it that the dome we have is part of the problem?

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I currently have a T-Fal variable speed tea kettle and so did some direct comparisons between the two. The Bodum lagged in all. It took the T-Fal 2 min 19 sec to boil .5 liters and 3 min 35 seconds to boil a liter. The Bodum took 3 min 17 sec and 5 min 47 sec respectively, a significant difference and one that would certainly be noticeable while waiting. The greater size of the T-Fal is preferable to me as well--the Bodum tops out at the one liter mark, but others may not need a large kettle.

The Bodum is definitely lighter and if someone is concerned about weight, the Bodum wouldn't be a problem at all. It has a relatively small footprint, though not really significantly smaller than my T-Fal.

In general then, with the speed, size, and variabilty--I'd aim people to the T-Fal. But by far the biggest concern I had with the Bodum was its strange propensity to stay on even after boiling. On two occasions the kettle either stayed on or came back on and got hot well after I'd boiled and poured out the water. During my testing I ended up unplugging it every time just to ensure this not happening again. I don't know if this was a singular flaw or something that is a feature of all of them, but it's certainly cause for concern

There's nothing to it really, an electric water heater so I don't have to light up the stove, wonder if there's a small clean pot, stand there until it boils or forget and let it boil over, etc.

You fill this up, push the ON button, after it boils it turns off. You lift the pot off the base and pour over teabag or into steeping pot, whatever.

I like it because it's green and modern looking. Functionality is so basic there's nothing to complain about.

Like the previous reviewer, I noticed there was no specific OFF button (just the ON button) But the auto shut off worked fine. If you're worried about auto shutoff not working soon enough, unplug after the water has boiled. I don't want bells and whistles, literally, on my tea-pot. One switch is great and the size is perfect for a family of four at breakfast. It's not like we're trying to boil water for spaghetti!

Looks like someone beat me to a 5 star review, but I'm sure we are both very pleased we purchased the product regardless of the negative review.

This kettle looked so cute and modern that I ignored the reviewers who claimed the fact that there is no "off" button is extremely dangerous. how bad could that really be, right? I bought the red color and thought it looked so perfect in my kitchen. HOWEVER, when my husband woke up to find the kettle STILL BOILING from the night before (though the water had long since evaporated)he quickly plugged it out of the wall, and it is now on its way back to amazon. not only is this extremely dangerous, but it's also extremely costly! and explains the exorbitant electricity bill we recently received. who knows how many times the kettle stayed on boil for WAY over a minute.

I agree with the reviewer who said this item should be recalledit's completely unsafe.

Read Best Reviews of Bodum Bistro 34-Ounce Electric Water Kettle Here

After reading all the negative reviews, I called Bodum's customer service line before ordering to ask about the absence of an "off" button. The rep assured me that all you have to do is remove the kettle from the base and the heater clicks off. That made sense to me so I ordered.

As soon as I unpacked it, I plugged it in, pressed the "on" button, and the light went on. I immediately removed the kettle from the base and the light went off, so I assumed it was no longer heating. Just in case, I unplugged it,then plugged it back i, thinking it was still off since the light was off.

Half an hour later I came back and happened to touch the outside of the kettle and it was hot. The pot was STILL on in spite of the fact that I had lifted it from its base, unplugged it, and replugged it in with no "on" light on. There was no water in the kettle either; so much for the safety feature that it shuts off automatically as soon as it's empty.

In spite of what the customer service rep told me, the 72-page manual (72 pages to boil water? Granted it's in 11 languages, but slight overkill) clearly states, "If the boiling process is ended by removing the main plug from the electrical outlet, the kettle will immediately switch itself back on when the main plug is reinserted." What kind of a design or safety function is that?

The one and only plus of this product is the beautiful style with its nice lines and bright colors. Sadly it's the only reasonably priced modern kettle I could find. That's not enough to make up for the extreme safety hazard, of course. Needless to say, I'm returning this item immediately. It should be recalled.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Perhaps if Bodum had approached this kettle with the same care they seem to have put into their French Press coffee pots, I could write a better review, sadly this is not the case.

So it's a kettle, when I first came to the USA at the end of the last century, I would have been delighted with this thing, Boiling kettles seemed non existent then.

But with the march of time, and the popularity of tea specifically (like Europe) kettles are now available in an abundance of sizes, prices and features.

Biggest problem with this is kettle is the On switch.

You notice I did not say on/off switch, because it only has an auto shut off feature, which is highly dependent on the internal sensor recognizing a boil and turning the unit off. You can not turn it off manually unless you physically unplug it.

If you need a kettle for instant coffee, or soup for example, you don't want the water to boil completely, I mean how hard would an off switch have been to put in?

It's a real shame, it's a nice clean modern design, very lightweight, and looks classy.

Slower to boil then most kettles I've used, that I could care less about, but I suspect most people will not be able to get over the on/off switch thing.

Perhaps instead of worrying about being green, and boasting about "BPA free" they should have looked at functionality first.

I would recommend Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle.

Not only cheaper, but larger capacity, quicker boiling, on/off capability, and automatic shut off when lifted from the base.

Overall I expected more from Bodum, especially as it is not exactly cheap either.

Not only is it beutiful but Amazon customer service saved the day .A little back story . We ordered this fireplace as our home did not come with a fireplace . My children wondered how Santa was going to deliver the presents . Just days before Christmas Amazon contacted me to advise that the original shipment would need to be replaced due to the carrier error . Just in the nick of time , no pun intended , the fireplace arrived and Santa delivered . Thanks Amazon

We are really pleased with our fireplace. It looks great in our living room. We live in a small townhouse, and the fireplace keeps the living room toasty. The heat output begins immediately to move the ceiling fan on it's own, as the heat rises. The furnace now rarely runs. The bedrooms are cool, which is how we like it. We live in South Carolina, so winter nights are cool but not frigid. Our electric bill (furnace is an electric heat exchanger) was less than expected last month. Will continue to evaluate this as the winter progresses. So far, very happy with this purchase.

If you buy a Dimplex product, cross your fingers that nothing breaks because if you have to call their customer service/technical support you are in for wild ride. It will take you about 2 hours on hold to get through to a live rep (who has that luxury??). They'll tell you it's their "busy season" meaning it's wintertime (duh!)

Now, if you're lucky enough to actually get through to a live rep, cross your fingers again that your problem wont require them sending out a rep to fix it, because you will be told to expect a call in one-to-two-days to set up an appointment (they wont give you the number to call yourself, you must wait for the call). But then the call doesn't come and you realize that your only recourse is to call Dimplex. Now your back to going on hold for two hours again.

The good news though is that if your fireplace breaks down in the middle of summer when you don't use it, you'll be able to get right through to one of their reps.

I love my fireplace, it is beautifully made and keeps my living room warm. My heat is in the ceiling so it always seemed cool. Now in the evening I turn the furnace way down and the fireplace keeps the room very comfortable. I highly recommend it. It was very easy for my son and daughter in law to put together, maybe took 1/2 hour and it is beautiful.

THE HONEYWELL HZ-709: I'm on my sixth oil-filled radiator heater. It's a Honeywell HZ-709, the only satisfactory one I've found currently on the market. The first Honeywell I bought worked very well for one season. When I began experiencing problems, I found customer service to be very responsive and responsible.

THE OTHERS: I had a Lakewood which worked very well, but Lakewood doesn't make these heaters anymore. I've also tried two different DeLonghi radiators. Both of them continued to put out irritating fumes even after the break in period. Back they went. Likewise for the Holmes I bought. It gave off a low-level odor that I didn't find too noxious at first; but after the first few hours I developed a continuous and worsening headache + nausea that wouldn't quit unless I left the house. It didn't put out as much heat as the Honeywell either. I gave it two days to prove itself, then gave up on it.

THE WARRANTY: So I've purchased a second Honeywell. As I said, the first one worked beautifully for one season. I cranked it up again this fall and it worked fine for a few days. Then, suddenly, the heater started to put out nasty fumes. It smelled like a CFL bulb when they go bad very nasty. It still worked and I couldn't find any leaking oil. I think the problem was in the control panel. I called customer service because, unlike other heaters, the Honeywell has a three-year warranty. Customer service was very thorough and efficient. The guy I spoke to told me he would waive the $10 return fee (?!!), but he wanted me to ship the heater back at my expense. When I objected, he put me on hold for a short time, then came back and told me that this one time I could just cut off the cord and send it. This I did, and I'm waiting on my replacement heater. Meanwhile I bought another because I wanted a second heater of this type anyway.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF HEATERS: I really prefer oil-filled radiators as opposed to forced-air or open-element heaters. They are quiet, slow, even, efficient, and safe. But you have to use them correctly. You can't come into a 60 degree room, crank up one of these radiators, and expect instant warmth. Rather than sending out a fan-driven blast of warm air, it transfers heat to the air and the objects around it by natural convection. Radiator is a misnomer they should be called convectors.

(True radiant heaters, such as quartz heaters, use infrared heat (electromagnetic radiation) to warm objects (and people) rather than the air. This is, in principle, exactly how the sun heats. The air may remain cool, but if you stand in the sunshine you will be warmed by radiation. Infrared heat is great if you can afford it. Quartz heaters will make your electric bill resemble NASA's budget. Apparently, buying a little piece of the sun is a very expensive proposition.)

Back to the oil-filled gadgets. As the heating element inside the convector (aka radiator) heats the oil, a current is generated in the oil because warm oil is more buoyant. The warm oil rises and gives up its heat, via the metal fins, to the colder air. The heated oil constantly rising from the bottom displaces the cooling oil which circulates back down to the heat coil to be heated again etc. etc. Meanwhile, the heated air is rising, forming its own convection current and is circulating throughout the room without any mechanical aids. This gentle current of air ultimately feels warmer than forced air because you are not contending with the "breeze" created by a fan-driven system. The use of natural convection circulation saves money because there is no fan using additional electricity.

If your room cools to, say, 55 degrees for a while, then so do all the objects in it. In a typical room, that's a lot of mass to bring back up to the desired temperature. Until everything reaches the desired temp, all that mass is soaking up the heat from whatever source you use. I find that these convection heaters are best used over a long period of time to warm the room and all the objects in it, then to maintain a comfortable temperature. To that end I wish the timer were set up to turn ON the heater (like an hour or two before I wake up or arrive home from work) rather than to turn OFF the heater at a preset time. That would make much more sense to me.

THE CONTROLS: The only other caveat to the timer is that if you accidentally turn it on by flicking the center button, your heater will cut off unexpectedly in whatever number of hours you unwittingly chose. Some of the "malfunctions" listed in other reviews may be due to accidentally setting the timer. The other controls work very well and the heater puts out a large, consistent volume of heat for a relatively modest increase in my power bill. The thermostat for this heater is apparently located near the floor. My floor is very cold, so the recorded temperature on the heater panel reads lower than the room temp. I monitor the actual room temperature and reset the heater thermostat accordingly. Right now it is 44 degrees outside, a comfy 72.5 inside, but the heater panel reads 68. This is in a very old, drafty, poorly-insulated 600 sq. ft. unit with no other intentional source of heat.

SUMMARY: Oil-filled heaters are quiet, efficient, and safe. The cats can and do sleep right up against it without burning themselves. It will not catch the curtains afire. There is no noisy, inefficient fan. Of all similar heaters, this Honeywell is the best -well worth the additional price. It is obviously made to higher quality standards than the other, cheaper heaters I've tried. It carries a three-year warranty, and the company stands behind its product. It heats the room without poisoning the air. If they made an even better one and charged even more, I'd buy it!

The Honeywell HZ-709 comes very well packaged with solid styrofoam wrapped around the unit all inside a heavy duty cardboard box. When I opened mine I wasn't surprised that there wasn't a scratch on it. It comes with the radiator unit, four plastic casters, two brackets, two u-bolts, owners manual, and warranty card. There is basic tool-free assembly required to put on the casters, but its so easy a cave man could do it. The instructions to do this are also very easy to understand.

Once the unit is assembled then it is time to plug it in. The digital settings are very easy to adjust with one power button and three two-way switches. One switch is for adjusting the thermostat, which can be set to the max of eighty five degrees fahrenheit. Another is for setting the power low (600 watts), medium (900 watts), and high (1500 watts). The last switch is for setting a hourly timer for shutting the unit off. The temperature switch can also be used to change from fahrenheit to celsius within the first few seconds of powering the unit on. Let me add that this unit is extremely silent, I had to check it a few times to make sure it was on.

I purchased this heater a few weeks ago from Target after we got a blast of cold weather (hovering below and above freezing at night) for a couple of weeks because my home does not have central heat and air and I have about 20 space heaters of which none have ever made my house feel close to warm during the winter. I decided on this unit because it was the most expensive one so I figured it must work for that price and plus I had never tried a oil filled radiator style heater before. I am so glad I decided on this heater.

This heater is in my bedroom which is roughly 700 square feet 26x26. I have a 52" ceiling fan which I set to low on the updraft setting. I tried to place the heater in the center of the room but the cord was too short, but I do have a pretty huge bedroom, so I just put it as far as it would go toward center from the wall outlet. I turned the heater on the highest power setting and highest temperature setting about 5:00pm on an evening that was going to drop below freezing. I have a thermometer on my night stand and the temp in the room read fifty nine degrees. By the time I went to sleep at around 10:00pm the temperature had already raised to seventy two degrees. When I woke up the next morning the temperature was seventy eight degrees. I was shocked!!! It was actually warm in my room. My wife was in shock too. What is amazing is that the unit itself is not extremely hot to the touch like quartz radiant heaters are, while it is still hot I don't feel like it is a fire hazard like quartz heaters are and I feel comfortable leaving it on all the time, even when I am not home. I am still a bit confused on how it does such a great job of heating but it really does. For the past two weeks I haven't been cold in my bedroom at all and I love this heater. It hasn't gone above seventy eight degrees in my bedroom, but I don't want it more than that anyway. It was definitely worth the money. I want to purchase 2 or three more of these units for the whole house now.

I just wanted to update my review a little after a year that I wrote it. It went through another winter and kept us warm, I had since bought a couple more. Still very happy with the units. I had people ask about energy consumption and decided to put a formula on here so you could figure it out for yourself since it would be different for everyone:

It is very easy to figure how any electrical device will affect your electric bill.

Use the formula:

Cost = (watts x hours used x rate per kwh) / 1000

So if you use the unit on high (1500 watts) for 12 hours a day at your electric company's kilowatt hour rate (mine is always changing but usually stays around .02 cents per kwh) then divide that number by 1000 you get your cost which would be:

Cost = (1500 watts x 12 hours x 0.02 kwh charge) / 1000 = $0.36 cents per day or for 30 days: 30 x 0.36 = $10.80

You can use the formula for any electronic device in your home.

Buy Honeywell 7 Fin Oil Filled Radiator Heater with Digital Controls, HZ-709 Now

I just bought this unit from Target, and it is great.

First of all, it is very quiet. The only noise is the sound of oil percolating around in metal housing, which is actually soothing. It is powerful enough to heat our average size bedroom (about 15'x15') even on the lowest setting, and it is below freezing outside.

It is really nice to have a thermostat. You can set it and it will keep your room at a constant temperature. The non-digital model is about $20 cheaper, but just get this one. I've used heaters with no thermostat, and you can never get it to hold constant at a nice temperature. You will wake up too hot or too cold.

The Honeywell costs a little more than the cheap-o brand, but it is WELL worth it. The first radiator heater I bought was cheap-o from Walmart. It made a really loud electrical arcing noise every time it kicked on. It was loud enough to wake us up. It sounded like those weapons from War of the Worlds.

Update: Durable too. We've had ours for.. 5 years?? Still works!

We loved ours! A lot of the people who are having problems with it shutting itself off randomly are probably playing with the middle button on the unit it is some kind of timer. We never used it, but realized when we had the same problem.

Our problem is that the oil pan must have burst or something I came into the kitchen one day and there was a brown puddle on the floor and the thermostat was registering 90 degrees. So thankful it didn't catch on fire or anything, but if it hadn't been on linoleum it would have left a nasty mess on the carpet. Returned it to the store no problem, but we were unable to replace it with the same model as it was not in stock.

I've owned this for a little over a year. I was quite pleased with it until I noticed that my electrical outlet had black around it I pulled the plug and saw that the plug was melting causing it to short. I blamed the outlet only to find another outlet making hissing/sparking noises shortly thereafter (and more melting) the problem is the plug becomes warm either by being close to the unit when on, or from electrical resistance this warms up the rubber/plastic separating the prongs causing the less electricity resistance and voila you have a potentially lethal problem. Even with the unit off the plug will continue to spark/short/melt. Don't know why the circuit breaker didn't blow it must not be enough to trigger. Buyer beware. I'm contacting Honeywell today.

I bought this expecting the extra vertical height to deliver the heat at a more direct level. Which it kind of does but that design is a compromise which doesn't offer a great benefit.

The design gives you the impression that the front fascia is mostly a heat output area but that's a lie. What they've done is taken a typical 1500W wide-type heating element and just stretched it vertically, so the actual area of output is through a 1 inch vertical gap between the center three fins. The lower quarter of the design is for the fan intake too so don't consider that part of the heating element.

What this means is the heat delivery is a very narrow area of effect and you have to be standing within about three or four feet to feel it on your skin. In fact the output even on high is not very hot at all. On the plus side it means the casing remains cool to the touch on all sides, in fact you could actually put your hand over the opening and leave it there. A hair dryer has a hotter output and at high speed this unit sounds about the same as a hair dryer so it needs to be at a distance. Low speed is more tolerable.

The remote is useful in that it has an LCD feedback display for temperature and fan setting but is very cheaply made with loose, cheap feeling buttons. The main unit fares better but it is not one of Lasko's better quality products.

If you want to slowly heat a small room then this would probably work, but for medium to large rooms the output will not provide instant heat and be in constant use trying to automatically maintain your set temperature.

Having purchased a Lasco fan which works very well and has a relatively small footprint, I definitely turned to Lasko when I was looking for a heater. The 5588 fit the bill. I have not experienced any problems, EXCEPT that when my printer (in the office where I was using the heater) began to print, the electricity went out. I had to get a new line for my office to prevent this from happening again. Now it works well! I imagine that my experience is similar to others who have purchased a heater (Lasko or another brand). It is well to be warned so you are prepared if this happens to you. Getting a new line installed cost me almost $300.00, but, in the end, it was worth it.

This is the best tower heater ive ever used. Love that the remote has a small lcd display. Heats up my bedroom quick. Love the automatic temp thing, turns off when it gets to the temp and then keeps checking it every once in a while to see if its still the same temp. Only dislike is the bright blue lights on the top, just a little too bright for sleeping.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He liked the concept. Kept a lot of dirt off the hearth. However, after six weeks it started getting holes in the bottom. We take the bag to the wood pile, load it, and bring it back where it is placed on the hearth. There is no heavy duty wear and tear. There is minimal rubbing on the bottom. This is a nice-looking tote but it's made of lightweight, floppy fabric that I found best for occasional use. Pros: nice straps, very pretty, great idea.

We are very heavy wood users and I wouldn't recommend it for every day go with something stiffer, a heavy canvas, if you're looking for heavy and regular use. I was hoping from the pictures that it would stand up on its own so you could load wood into it when it's open, but it just flops in on itself it can't stand up on its own and I find it annoying to load, more like trying to stuff wood into a bag than stacking it in a "carrying tote."

On a recent camping trip I lost a flat carrier with handles. I loved it, except for the mess it made when carrying wood into the house. Because this one had enclosed sides, I ordered it and received it the next day (always great shipping from Amazon!) While the material is not as sturdy as the one I lost, I believe this one will last for quite a few years. I LOVE that the mess stays contained in the carrier. For the price, this is an excellent value.

If you are replacing the exhaust bellows this tool is a must for replacement. I'm not sure how you would put the exhaust bellows on without this!

This mantle exceeded my expectations. No need to go into great detail, but here are the bullets:

* The packaging was excellent and very protective.

* The mantel was made from solid wood not pressboard with a laminate.

* The quality of the wood was excellent.

Do I have any negative comments? (maybe) because of the above qualities, the package was so heavy that my wife had to help me carry the box into the house. Yes very heavy and made in China, but the shipping was free!

works ok with cans, extends coolness of beverage but not for long time .. looks cool at my desktop

While the CoolIT Beverage Chiller isn't powerful enough to even keep a drink cool, I found a way to keep my drink cold until I finish it. Get a koozie (foam can holder), cut out the bottom, put it around a soda can and stick the can on the CoolIT chiller. Granted, most of the job is done by the koozie, but near the end of the can, it does make a difference.

You're delusional if you think a USB port can take a drink from room temp and make it nice and cold. If you want to do that for $30, again, you're crazy.

Now, if you want an apparatus that keeps cold drinks from warming up as fast and also keeps the bottom half of your can of soda colder much longer, this is perfect. Assuming you crack open a beverage when it's cold, this thing is great. The top half of the drink is gone before it warms up. It's the bottom half that causes problems and this does the job.

Not even close to as loud as some reviews say it is. Yeah, it hums...but it's the same level of sound as the power supply on the CPU, so it's not like I even notice. Granted, this thing is closer to the user than the power supply, but it makes no difference.

I liked this thing. Got it as a gift and it is useful only for aluminum can drinks.

The CoolIT USB Beverage Chiller is a great idea with not-so-great execution. It only keeps the bottom part of the beverage cold, and not so much that you would notice a difference. The fan is loud. All-in-all an unimpressive product. I'm sending mine back.

I got this device as an early Christmas gift and was mildly excited (I love gadgets). I tested it out in a well air-conditioned office on cans of Diet Coke.

Can 1: fresh out of the box, never opened, & placed on chiller for 1hr. Results: no noticable change in temp.

Can 2: one hour in fridge, never opened, then onto chiller for 1.75 hrs. Results: soda got slightly warmer.

Can 2: 3 hours in fridge, opened, then onto chiller where I sipped it over the course of an 1.5 hrs. Results: it got warmer at what seemed like the standard rate.

This device does not work as advertised. It did not keep my drinks cool. It did not delay the warming. Not a worthwhile gift and certainly not worth $25. Save your money and use ice.

Other downsides: No on/off switch, can only be powered via USB, and it is heavy enough that laptop users will leave it behind.

This bellow is great. Seems sturdy and is very attractive. The carved wood is a real nice touch. I was pleasently surprised by the color. The advertisement makes it look very dark if not black. The wood of the bellow that arrived is stained a nice dark brown an is lighter than the advertisement implies.

The item pictured is not the one you will receive. I have already tried twice to get the blue bellow as pictured both times I have been sent something different. Very disappointed! This time I will just request a refund and order from a different company!!

I ordered this expecting a blue leather, black wood, silver nozzle bellow but instead I received a black leather, dark brown wood, gold nozzle bellow.

The product I received is nice and I most likely won't return it but I would not trust this seller again.

The product description is very deceptive :(

Major disappointment!

I was into the story but disappointed with the weak ending. It needed a few more lines to clarify things.

This is a review of 5 stars to help offset the 1 star review by the fool who used it for something for which it's not intended. Yes, I also called Rutland and they said it can be used on the inside of a brick fireplace, but if it comes in contact with direct flame it will probably blister and peel. Nowhere on the can does it say it can be used for that purpose.

Used to paint the chimney pipe coming out the back of my stove so it would match the stove. Took a few coates, but worked fine and made everything look much better than a black stove and shiny galvanized piping.

I used this stove paint to paint the bricks inside of my fireplace. It worked out really well but be prepared for the mess of a typical paint job. It is a deep black paint and thin just like regular paint so you will have the drips etc. If you are using it for a brick job then I would also recommend buying a spray can for the same type of heat job to get all of the cracks and areas missed by a paintbrush. At the end of my project it looked perfect though so i would definitely recommend it for a fireplace job.

I have a fireplace over 100 years old. It was in serious need of attention. The paint was great. Easy to use and coverage was incredible. Looks like new!

The only reason I gave this one star was because zero stars wasn't one of the choices. I spent an hour looking for this product, but when I purchased and opened the can, found that the viscosity and opacity of this paint most closely resembled dirty dishwasher. Even after stirring thoroughly, it was virtually impossible to tell where I has painted. I put the lid back on the can and immediately threw into the trash. In a lifetime of remodeling and building, never have I seen a poorer product.
