I bought this for indoor use. I wanted a low folding table made of wood. I chose this one for its color, the slatted top, and the slightly-curved legs. It comes fully-assembled I only had to remove the materials that protected it during shipment, unfold it, and lock it into place.

It's very well-designed it looks as graceful in real life as in the photo, it balances perfectly when it's folded up, and it's stable when unfolded and locked into place.

The construction is not perfect. The distance between a couple of the slats is not the same as with all the other slats. The brass hooks that lock the legs need to be pushed into place hard.

Despite the imperfect construction, I love this table. It has a casual, airy, graceful look. It's sturdy. I plan to order a few more.

I like the idea of having these around. I will use them for books I'm reading, writing materials, as a printer stand (yes, it's that sturdy), and to hold drinks and snacks when people stop by. They're like TV tables but better prettier, less intrusive, less likely to tip, lighter weight, and easier to fold up and store.

This table was purchased recently and after only 2 months of being outside, the hardware is rusting and it has a crack showing bare wood on the top. Given the price, I would not recommend this as durable outdoor furniture for children.

First I'll start with how the product arrived from Amazon. When the UPS guy took it off the truck the box was falling apart and the end was ready to split wide open. It made it about 20ft. to my back porch where the end did split open. I guess you could say it made it to where it had to but this thing is heavy and should be in heavier corrugate for the outer pack box.

All parts are porcelain coated or ceramic and are made from heavy gauge steel. Nothing flexes or bends when you pick it up by an edge. Very nice.

Assembly is very easy and can be done with a Phillips head and a 7/16" wrench / socket combination. The bottom is raised which is very nice as it places the fire and the heat off the ground or surface you are placing it on.

Once assembled it is very heavy and awkward to move by yourself so have it in place first or have a helper or two, as I said it's heavy gauge steel coated with porcelain.

Once I had it in place we began using it that night. The one thing that became a bit of a problem was that even though it's larger than most and can accommodate larger pieces of wood.... when you put a piece in, even if it just bumps the side slightly the sides pop open. There is nothing holding the sides on other than 2 slots in the bottom, the top is free to fall outward whenever, it's just the slight angle that holds them there. Would have been nice to see a small latch, magnet or something. What I ended up doing was putting a piece of wire on the sides I don't open often and leaving one side open for loading. That way I can just unhook the wire end and open up for cleaning.

I have had several large fires in this that lasted hours through the night and had the bottom glowing a nice orange. It holds up well without warping at all. Again, very nice.

After I had a fire going for about 3 hours I placed my hand near, then on the bottom metal. Barely warm. This would be very nice if you were placing on a patio or deck as I have not experienced it getting hot at all on the bottom.

The other nice thing is that all sides are removable for loading, toasting marshmallows or cleaning.

Overall I give this 4 stars ONLY because the sides have no latch to keep them from popping open. Be careful when having people sitting around it if this happens as something could spill out. Add a piece of wire or your own latch and it's perfect!

The frame and base of unit is solid and well built. It looks like a Japanese building and looks cool on my cement patio

near a pool. I enjoyed it for five months and yes the screens hold on with only gravity and I live in a non-windy area.

The quality of the screen material is the problem. It is thin gauge screen mess and then painted. After a few

strong fires it will start to rust. Forget the wire brush. The screen material becomes completely brittle in five

months and vaporized into rust dust. All four go pretty much at the same time. Replacement screens are $29.99 and

all you get from their customer service is "I understand" over and over after they only offer to sell you replacements

that will last the same amount of time. No deals, no discounts, no advice on how to keep them lasting longer. So

you got this great solid frame that will likely last years but after shipping, the four replacement screens will cost the

same as buying a complete new unit here at Amazon. Does that make sense? Char-Broil is not a good company.

I've owned two of these. First one lasted about 11 years. It's a great patio fireplace and holds up well. It's the right height and perfect for watching the fire on a cool evening lor letting the kids roast marsh mellows. I would recommend getting the "Deluxe" as it's a bit longer and thus is a better fit for the average size piece of firewood.

If it has any flaw, its the door screens. They rust and can't be replaced. New doors cost as much as the whole unit.

I purchased this fireplace after reading the reviews on other fireplaces. This made the top of my list because of the porcelain finish. It is very durable and will hold up to the weather. The side screens that others are noting as rusting, that is going to happen once any kind of paint is burned off. And you cannot put the porcelain coating on a screen because of the process required. The other reviewers comments about the poor packaging, no kidding! It is terrible! If you purchase one make sure that the package is intact before the carrier leaves so the fasteners are inside so you can assemble the fireplace. I added the picture to show how it looks with wood burning inside the unit.

The reason I got this fireplace was because it looks pretty good. We just had a spa set up in the basement. So we thought it may be a good display. Plus, the price is very good. So we decided to get one. The heater looks GREAT and fits right in our spa. And it is very warm. It does heat up the whole room. Our basement is approximately 400 square feet. And this little thing does its job. I ended up buying another two more. Now, I have two in the spa and one in our entertainment room. I highly highly recommend it. I am very very happy with this product. It looks elegant. And it is very sturdy. You can put miscellaneous items on it because the top is not hot. I only put a plant on it to keep the simple look. The top is not hot at all because heat comes out from the bottom. Trust me, I don't usually write reviews, but this is one of the best products I have ever purchased. One thing is I see this product in BJs at a lower price. The model # at BJs is a little different. The one from Amazon is DFS-550-0. The one from BJs is DFS-550-22. They sell it for $85. I tried to find this DFS-550-22 on-line, but not able to find it. So I THINK it may be discontinued already. So, whoever is interested in a fireplace, you may want to also check out the one in BJs. Not sure whether they are the same or not.

Performance: Heats a 350 sq/ft, 3 room travel trailer in about an hour. The thermostat is excellent and functions like a furnace. The fan is a very quiet hum. We left it running for 8 hours straight; the top was warm, but the rest of the unit stays cool. Only the grate in front of the heating element gets hot. When it reaches the desired temperature, it makes a series of clicking noises, and then the heating element (red light) shuts off followed by the fan. The remote control works great.

Appearance: It is an attractive design, mostly metal, with some plastic. There are 5 flame brightness options. At the highest setting the flames look very cheesy, but we enjoy the warm glow at a 2 or 3 level. The digital function display only lights up when you are powering the unit on, or adjusting a setting.

Cons: The metal frame is thin. The 'stove lid' above the heater causes a rattling sound. We added a little weight with a faux candle holder and river rock display, and that helps the noise. The rattling isn't bothersome with the tv on, but is a little distracting while reading.

UPDATED 12/13/2011:

I emailed the seller soon after my last review to see where things stood and if they could supply me with a tracking number if they had one but didn't get a response. HOWEVER, I recieved my new Country Wood Holder two days later! Now, thats what I call Quick service! Granted, I was a little upset that I didn't hear any updates but actions speak louder than words... :-D

This new package was indeed double wrapped with cardboard box (someone did take note of my complaint) and it arrived in perfect condition. We've placed it next to the fireplace and neatly stacked the wood in it and what a difference! My wife LOVES it... Folks, I've looked around and I don't think you can beat this price! Especially knowing that this seller will stand behind their product and offer a quick resolution (if one ever existed)... Oh and a customer rep did respond to my email after I recieved my new item apologizing for the delay! I'm happy to report I'm a satisfied customer. :-)

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I was really excited for this buy but was disappointed to receive it the way it was. The box seemed to have been tossed and kicked around! There were holes in the box and two of the sides of the wood holder were protruding through the box! It almost looked like UPS had a soccer game and used it as a ball... Keep in mind this is no fault of the seller and this paragraph didn't affect the rating. I was disappointed that we had accepted that delivery, I should have rejected it.

I did open the box hoping to see that it was still intact; however, one of the support beams broke at the welding point. I must say that the Country Wood Holder did look beautiful and seemed to be well built! It's got a good weight to it and doesn't feel cheap at all. I didn't take it out of the box that it came in since I already knew it had to go back so I can't comment on the tools. Btw, the wood holder was just placed in a plastic bag and dropped in the box, I was surprised to see there were no styrofoam (or the like) around it to protect it!

I immediately contacted the seller through Amazon and they got back to me two days later stating that they will issue me a return label and will exchange the product once they recieve it. I have yet to recieve the return label but after following up with customer service yesterday they informed me that it takes 2-3 business days to issue so hopefully today or tomorrow... I'm really hoping I'll get the replacement before Christmas.

Would I recommend this product? Yes but I wouldn't accept the package if it was roughed up!

Giving it just 3 stars since Amazon forces you to give it a rating but I haven't used it yet so I can't give it more. Updates to this review and the rating to come hopefully before Christmas...

I've looked at all sorts of fireplace tools for our fireplace. This set tops them all. The price is a little higher then most, but this is a very sturdy set. The extra cost is worth the sturdiness of these fireplace tools. The stand also holds about an evenings worth of wood which is convenient. Sure beats the constant in and out to the patio to retrieve wood other wise.

My daughter has asthma and I discovered this log at a conference. When it burns it smells terrific and she doesn't have one cough. In fact, none of us had sore eyes or smelled back after a backyard bonfire. It's the best log I have EVER used and now Katie can participate in bonfires!

Winter only happens once a year and is separated by many months that dull the memories of the bad heaters you bought in winters past. For the winter season of 2010/2011, I purchased two different Optimus heaters for my house, the H-7328 and the H-7318.

I bought both units at the same time in October, so they sat in their unopened boxes well past the time you could return them. When winter came I set my brand new heaters up. The 7318 rattled so bad I could barely hear myself think. And within days the 7328 stopped oscillating and started to smell like burnt wiring. By February neither unit functioned, both thermostats apparently didn't work anymore so the unit that would actually provide heat would stay on forever, even if the unit fell face down on the carpet. YIKES, talk about dangerous.

So in March when I went to throw these units in the garage, on top of the pile of totally useless things I have bought in years past, I noticed something odd. I reached down and dug out three old heaters from the year before. Apparently I bought an Optimus H-5280, an H-3013 and an H-5230.

So in two years I have purchased no less than five Optimus heaters of which only one still works as advertised, which only goes to prove one thing, I AM A COMPLETE IDIOT, for ever buying an Optimus product. If they don't fail to work at all, then they stand a good chance of burning you alive while you sleep.

I've had this heater for a year and a half and haven't had any problems with it till

one day I knocked it over. The thin glass heating element doesn't have any support except

for the top and bottom. I knocked it over and the element broke in the center.

I would have been good for the manufacture to add a couple supports along the length

of the element to support it. Buying a new tube is out of the question. Manufacture

wants you to ship it to them for repair. It's cheaper to buy a new heater.

I recently bought this heater for the purpose of warming my study which can get quite drafty in these winter months. I usually get by with just a coat and a glass of wine or two but my wife insisted I try to purchase something to keep me warmer as I am getting older and my breathing has been labored as of late. By the by I decided to purchase this heater based on its price and the virtues extolled by the maker. I must say I was not impressed, it has done little to heat the interiour of my study, this foolish device just sits in the middle of the floor and buzzes. The room has not heated at all and it seems it would get warmer if I would just burn the thing. All is not a complete waste though because it does make an interesting conversation piece when I invite fellows into my study to chat due to its futuristic look and flashy lighting. If only it worked better. Oh well

First of all, this thing is heavy. I hope you have a friend to call to help you get it in the house. I seriously feel bad for the FedEx guy who delivered it.

Second, I really appreciate the effort that went into the packaging. Every edge of the box containing the wood parts was stiffened by a hard length of heavy laminated cardboard. Inside the box, every piece was wrapped in a lightweight shipping fabric to protect the finish, and there was a ton of tight fitting styrofoam holding everything together, with more of the stiffened laminated cardboard protecting the corners of the box from the inside. This box could have shot out of the shipping truck, completed two bounces on the interstate and been run over by a semi and the contents would have been flawless.

Third, I'm really impressed with the materials and the ease of assembly. Nice heavy pieces of actual wood, and those pieces that are made from pressboard are made from the very dense, heavy variety with nice laminate. We purchased the dark espresso finish, and its pretty much black with wood grain showing through, a little darker than we expected, but we are happy with it. Assembly instructions were clear, all necessary hardware was in the box, and it went together very easy with a phillips screwdriver.

Overall I'm very happy with this item, the fireplace looks great for an electric, and the furniture aspect meets exactly what we needed. Would definitely recommend.

This entertainment center is such a great piece of furniture with the electric fireplace. It took approx. 1 hour to assemble, my daughter & her husband put it together & everything worked perfectly. It is a real nice piece of furniture and looks great. The only part that took some time is to take each piece out of the large box 2 pieces were very heavy. Once I put all the pieces in the living room it took little time to put together. I would highly recommend this entertainment center.

I love this fireplace but it was slightly damaged even though it was beautifully packaged. The chip is right in the center front of the unit. That, actually, is quite minor and I expect I can repair it with a bit of shoe polish.

What I wasn't expecting is that it is a bit noisy when the unit is turned on. I might have expected that when the heater is turned on, but it is also a little noisy when just the "mood" light is on for the electric fire.

I haven't used it yet to supplement the heat in our small room.

I also wasn't expecting to assemble it although it was easy enough to do.
