I'd tried just about every space heater in this price range. None of them had a thermostat that would go to the set temperature the second time. (A thermostat, once set, should heat to about the same temperature every time.) Because a reviewer said the thermostat on this unit was good, I purchased one. The room to heat was my bathroom, about 80 sq ft, no windows, door closed, interior location away from outer walls. It took a LOT of patience to arrive at the initial preferred setting--80 degrees after turned on about one hour. After that, the second time the unit was turned on for an hour, temps ranged from 72 degrees to 90 (it might have gone higher had I not shut it off.) An obliging local retailer allowed me to try four units in turn. None had a better thermostat. I suspect the different Chinese heater manufacturers source the same thermostats. I rate it one star because space heaters without thermostats are available for less, and it is very noisy. (Please don't tell me how wonderful the thermostats on your Pelonis work. I congratulate you on your good fortune. These were my experiences.)

At some point after our home was built 40 years ago, the previous owner had new flues installed (3 of them) in the very large field stone chimney that is in the center of the house. Unfortunately when the flue for the wood-burning stove was installed it was placed flush with the chimney crown, placing it at the same level as the two fire place flue "openings." The entire chimney was then covered with a large chimney cap with side mesh. Since we use the wood-burning stove to supplement our heating system during some very cold northeast winters, cresote buildup was always an issue even though we use Anti-Creosote religiously. My husband redid the crown and replaced the large chimney cap with a smaller one that fit over just the two fireplce flues, raised the "problem" flue with a clay chimney pipe and placed the adjustable Chimney 14850 Homesaver Pro Chimey Cap on it. Although the entire project took him several days, putting the Pro Chimney Cap on took less than 30 minutes! Although we haven't used the stove yet we are confident our creosote problems (and safety problems) are over. He did a lot of research into what type of cap would work best for us and was within our budget. I purchased this unit as my wife and I love the "coffee on the go" mode and figured to save a few bucks in the long run on the expensive Convenience Store drinks. So far, and that includes three vehicles, we have blown the fuse every time that we plug the RoadPro into the cigarette lighter. I am approaching half the cost of the unit in replaced fuses. I'm not saying that the unit will not work, in fact I believe that it will do what it claims if you can get the proper power to it. For many vehicles, it will require a heavier wire to be routed from the battery to a seperate 12 volt outlet. Being an over-the-road driver I carried one of these for awhile in order to make coffee and hot cereal. It actually heats pretty well, and is a much better product than the previous one I had. However after about 3 months of 3-4 times a week use, it started to leak through the base and into the heating element. After that it quit completely. As this happened with 2 of these in a row, I tend to believe it's a design flaw. very sad that this product did not work at all. when plugged in to car, with car on (followed all the instructions) it lit up but never heated the water at all. tried different cars, waited 20 minutes, NEVER WORKED! sent it back for refund. i will say amazon has a very easy return procedure and i did appreciate that.

Since my husband's stroke I have been the one to start our fire in the fireplace. He always split pine and used it as starter. I did for the first winter. Last winter I was in a fireplace store and ourchased your product. I ran out and as it was quite aways from home and my husband could not be left alone never went back and tried two other brands. It burned and sparkled as promised. Burned only one so I'm not quite sure of any benefits. When I bought it I misread the ad and was expecting more than 1 stick. We purchased this Dimplex firebox and the oak mantel individually. We didn't like the cheaper firebox that Dimplex had switched to. The DF3015 is very attractive, although I have seen more realistic looking flames. Don't buy it for the heat. There isn't much there. Shipping from Wayfair was very fast, and when I had a small problem with the trucking company, Wayfair customer service took care of it right away. My husband and I bought this water dispenser and we are so happy with it, that we are buying another one. We use ours multiple times a day. If you are a tea drinker or like hot water on hand all the time, THIS IS the hot water dispenser for you. You can hold water temp at 175, 195 or 205, also you can add small amounts of cold water to bring the temperature down for even more fragile green teas. Water boils fairly quickly after filling no complaints from me. We had a 3 L boiler at one time but found we had to fill it to often and much prefer the 5 L model :)

I purchased this around November 2012 and it died today while burning it's plug and my wall socket. I will have to replace the wall plugs and return the heater. It was a noisy heater, yes but it did get warm. It was NOT on when it somehow started to burn on half the plug. Thank goodness I smelled burning plastic and unplugged it before any actual fire. I have not had the problems that Moniker reports in another review. In an effort to keep down heating costs, I've decided to try space heaters this year, and so far, the Pelonis heater has worked perfectly. I've kept it on almost all the time. This does not mean that it's been pouring out heat the entire time. For much of the time, it's been idle, waiting for the temperature to dip low enough to cause the heater to come on. And it's worked perfectly.

I received my mantle in great condition. I opened the box and was in awe. I ordered the already stained rustic and for my application, it is amazing. I have to say for my application, if I were to have used only the shelf hanger it would have been very easy install. I chose to use the hanger and the corbels which I had to modify. I love the result though. The corbels in my opinion make the mantle come to life. Be advised it is NOT a solid block of wood. It is a hollow frame of thick pine. This beautiful mantel shelf has totally transformed what I previously thought was an ugly fireplace. I almost didn't buy the house because of it. I was hesitant to buy a shelf online, but trusted Amazon, so I went ahead with the purchase. It is easy to install, only taking about 30 minutes once you decide where to hang it, and is very sturdy. Sadly, my fireplace was shipped without a piece, the bracket to hold the glass panel in. The panel still fits snug, and until I get the piece from Customer Service, it seems to stay in place fine anyway. The flame effect is surprisingly,very good. I did not expect it to be as life-like as it turns out. The heater is very quiet, and actually warms both my living room and dining room, an area approximately 30 x 15, to a comfortable degree. I agree with the poster above that a separate setting for the thermostat and flame would have been great. Also, since it is RF, it doesn't work with my Harmony One remote, but the remote is small and only has an "on" and an "off" button. One strange thing, I looked on the Dimplex site, and can not find this model. I received this last evening. It arrived in two large boxes and required assembly. It is the assembly instructions that prevent me from giving the fireplace 5 stars. While the mantle/hearth was relatively intuitive, the fireplace connections to the hearth were separate and not as simple as they could have been. There is little good instruction regarding the installation of the glass front (which was pristine upon arrival).
