I received this item as a gift and I really love it! It's as close to a fireplace as I can get in my small home! It's small enough to fit and still get a a comfortable cozy feeling. I agree it does have a hummm when you have the flame on, but easily overcome if you have other noise, ie TV. Well made and not too difficult to assemble.

Super fast delivery. Ordered on Wed., received it on Friday! Packaged great! Assembly took a little over an hour (would have been quicker if I was not using my pink tools). I had to go online to find out how to use the cam bolt and lock, otherwise instructions are very easy to follow. All parts well marked with one extra of each. Unit is very attractive. Heats the room quickly. I would give 5 stars except when the "flame" is running it makes a distracting sound. For now I'm just keeping the "logs" glowing and the heat on.

In the past we've used command hooks for our stockings and always felt they stood out like a sore thumb. We have a stone fire place with a wood mantle and have been searching for something relatively child proof that will compliment our decor. The clips were easily adjusted to fit our mantle and hold tightly in place. There is a rubber grip on the inside of the clip that helps to hold them in place as well as prevent damage to the mantle. My two and four year old kiddos have tugged on them a few times but so far they've held strong. The clips are light weight, so if the kiddos were ever to succeed in pulling them down, they aren't as likely to cause damage when compared to other stocking holders (assuming the stockings are empty!). The pewter finish with holly detail went perfectly with our holiday decor. They doubled as a stocking holder and handy spot to secure our garland.

We have a "home-made" stone fireplace, with a slab type mantle. The surface isn't very wide, and the lip on the mantle doesn't protrude out very far. Stocking holders that sit on top of the mantle do not work, and with space constraint a floor stocking stand doesn't work. I found these here and thought I would give them a try.

When I opened them I was very skeptical, because they were bigger than I had thought and I did not think they would work with our small mantle lip. I almost didn't even try, but I am glad I did. They work anyway. The weight of the stocking and the way the hook sits on the mantle works perfectly, even with the issues my fireplace has. I have no fear that once the stockings are full they will fall off the mantle. I am very happy to have purchased these, and recommend them to anyone. They are very pretty, very sturdy, do not bend easily and even if you don't think they would work, they will surprise you.

I needed a small grate for my very small wood stove and this was the smallest that I could find. I found it to be almost perfectly what I wanted surprisingly so. It is much sturdier than I expected so I anticipate it's lasting as long as I do. I needed a way to keep logs from too easily coming out of the stove when refueling it and it does that as well or better than I could have expected. The only thing about the grate that posed a slight problem was its height. While being quite functional as it was, the height limited the firebox more than I wanted. An angle grinder with a cutoff wheel made short work of shortening the legs and now it's perfect!

For 2 years I have worked in an office where war has been fought over the ambient temperature. Some like it cool and some like it very hot. I am a "like it cool" dude.

Now that spring is here, the war is back on this soldier is sick of fighting. I decided to buy a fan, but (darn) which one? It seems there are millions out there. After reading reviews, I decided to purchase this fan.

It arrived and I was initially put-off by its small size. Don't let the small size fool you. This fan, on the slow speed, moves ample air and is whisper quiet. It does the job and does it well. Now I am not as warm and am uber content not being caught up in the temperature battles.

I do not recommend this Lasko if you sleep with a fan at night. It has 2 speeds and is too quiet at the lowest speed to provide the "white noise" that us urban dwellers around the world have come to rely on.

Overall, 2 thumbs up, way up, on this fan as an office companion

3) Small and takes up little desk-top real estate

Cons:

Love the color, relatively compact size, and fan speeds. Low is great for desktop or personal fan as long as it's not blowing right on papers. Oscillation makes a good sweep too.

CONS

Too tall if you need this to fit under an overhead bin in an office cubicle. The machine also has a moderately-high pitched whir/whine that is louder than the sound of the air blowing. I returned the first one and the second one was quieter the first time I plugged it in, then just as noisy as the first one. I could hear the whir/whine from another room even on low speed. If your office is not super-quiet or you are not using this as white noise it's still a great choice. Otherwise I'd keep looking.

This is the best $29 (current price w/shipping) you will ever spend. It's the tall, silent type, except it's not overly tall at about 12 inches or so in height.

Quiet, good looking, powerful, takes up minimal space, and just an extremely well-designed and engineered product. It also can "oscilate" or swings back and forth slowly if you want it to. Nice going Lasko.

So quiet, on the "low" speed it's hard to hear that it is even on.

My only small complaint is that the indicator lights that show it is on are kind of bright if it's in your bedroom and all the lights are out, but I just put a small piece of tape on the switch light to tone down the brightness. During the day, or for office use, or for less sensitive people (which is most people) this is a non-issue.

I bought this to replace a failed unit in an addition to my house. This room is not on the ductwork for the central A/C, so it needs its own unit.

This model is slightly wider than my old unit, so I also replaced the sleeve (EA108T). This is a through-the-wall mount and requires a sleeve, though if there is an existing sleeve and it's large enough, you can use that. The unit comes with a new grill for the back of the sleeve, and various foam pieces to apply to the sleeve to make the unit fit. Note that you must remove any existing grill or plate from the back of the sleeve.

Mounting the sleeve in the wall is the hard part; the A/C itself just slides in. Both the A/C and heat work fine.

As with any heavy item, it's prone to being damaged by the delivery company. Inspect it carefully and file a complaint if it's damaged. The box for mine had some dings in it, but the unit itself was fine.

We ordered this for a renovated garage apartment. I thought it was like most air conditioning units. The fan runs constantly, but the compressor kicks on when needed. This unit does not do this, the fan turns off and on along with the compressor. The off and on is VERY annoying while either sleeping or watching TV. It is a CONSTANT battle of the noise. I would not purchase this item if you do either of these in the same room.

Had one issue: Power cable to the blower fan was loose and hanging into fan blades. Took cover off to and reattached cable with cable ties. The factory cable hook is very poorly made and will not hold cable during shipping. Unit is quiet and heats/cools well.

This requires a 250v 20amp fuse and dedicated circuit. The plug is NEMA 6-20, which has one flat vertical, one flat horizontal and one round prong. The outlet has to match in both configuration and volt/amp. I happen to have a 20amp fuse/circuit even though the old air conditioner was using a 15 amp plug/outlet, so I can change the outlet without any issues but I got lucky. If I had a fuse/dedicated circuit that was 15 amp I would be calling an electrician to replace it.

I ordered two of these, one arrived too damaged to install very poorly handled. It is packed correctly, someone just plain dropped it on the far back corner of the unit and that took all of the weight. Ruined it through the styrofoam packing. They are taking "48-72 hours" to decide if I should get a replacement, which translates into 6-9 working days or around two weeks. In the meantime, that particular room is not inhabitable.

The second unit runs fine, and it comes with a remote which I was not expecting, but the water collects in a pool in the bottom pan and you hear water dripping throughout use. There is no apparent drain so it has nowhere to go. Dripping water is not a favorite sound of mine. I have combed through the manufacturer's documentation and can't find any reference to how the water should drain out, except that the unit has to be slanted back so that water flows in that direction.

People have been making and selling room air conditioners for quite a while now. You'd think they would have this all down by now.

My 1929 apartment has a lovely decorative fireplace that is a major presence in the living room and cries out for a real fire. It never had a chimney, vent, or gas line, so I assumed that my only options for the fireplace were an electric unit with a fake flame, candles, or just a screen for decoration. Then I happened upon this product and, given how inexpensive it was, I thought I would try it out.

I was surprised by how well it worked. It's easy to put together and fit perfectly in my fireplace, which has a fairly big opening but is shallow. The fire and log set look convincing and create the ambience I was looking for. Yes, the gel fuel crackles like a real wood-burning fire, and the big flames flicker and dance around the strategically placed "logs" as you would expect. For me, it was three and a half hours before the last of the three hidden cans went out. For most of that time, it went pretty much full blast and didn't require any sort of tending or attention (other than keeping an eye on it as you would with any sort of fire). I didn't smell anything. The cans light easily with one flick of a long lighter, and can be doused by simply replacing the lids (using tongs or an inexpensive magnetic tool you can buy). Although not advertised as a source of significant heat, I found that it did warm the room during the recent summer evening when I tried it. The fire was doing battle with the air conditioner in the next room and winning, so it does give off some heat. (It is real fire, after all!) Yes, you have to buy the gel fuel, but I don't plan to have a fire every night, and, on the whole, this is a reasonably priced, very convenient way to enjoy a real fire in a decorative, ventless, or non-funtioning fireplace.

Finally, my fireplace is a real fire place!

the log set is reasonably attractive and realistic looking. Easy to use with gel cans. Our fireplace has not been used for some time partly due to the trouble of getting fires going without smoke in the house and mostly because our chimney is in bad shape. But now we can have the warmth both in temperature and atmostphere of a fire. There is no odor, no smoke and with recommended gel cans, a nice crackly, realistic fire. The only downside is the cost of the fuel, but we decided that it is worth it for us.

We bought the large deluxe fire set for our home built in 1934. Although the home inspector gave the go-ahead on a real fire in the fireplace, we had our reservations. We finally decided we didn't want to deal with the real thing or hook up a gas line. We live in south Georgia (although my profile says Athens, GA) where it doesn't get too terribly cold but sometimes (like around Christmas), you just want the feel of a fire. So we bought this log set and couldn't be happier! We did a little research and could find a set cheaper than this one (at Lowe's and Home Depot they're double the price!).

The only reason we didn't give this realistic-fake a higher score is because the fuel cans burn out so quickly (just a couple hours of straight use). The flames still crackles, pops, and flares up high like a real fire. Sometimes you have to stir the fuel can to reignite it after a use. But yeah, overall, it's a great choice especially if you're in a similar situation as we are (hotter climate, older house, need a log set that functions both as decor and ambiance).

when i bought this item,i was first concerned that it may be made cheaply, and to my pleasure it was nothing of such sort. the iron work is sturdy and the logs are made and painted excellently, however, contrary to the description it does give off an noticeable amount of warmth which is perfect for michigan winters. i have a beautiful spanish fireplace that has been filled in to be nothing more but decorative and this set has gave it life again. i recommend it to anyone interested in buying it.

I would agree with all the other reviews regarding the packaging, if they had better packaging I would give this a 5 star. There was a small chip of paint on one side due to parts rattling around during shipping, other than that it was in perfect condition, for me it wasn't worth sending back. I was looking for a screen with doors for my fireplace and this fit the bill perfectly, the doors open and close fine and line up perfectly with my fireplace opening. If you're looking for a fireplace screen that isn't permanently fixed to the opening then I think you would be completely happy with this product for the money.

This looked to be one of the better options in the price range when viewing online. As soon as I opened the package, I saw how cheap and poorly-constructed this item is. It had portions of the outer black coating chipped and peeling off, multiple scratches, and in general just poor quality. Perhaps some of this is to be expected after sitting on a Chinese cargo vessel for weeks and thrown around until it hit my front door. Just beware and don't be fooled by the appearance of the item online. If you have a local fireplace store that sells screens at a reasonable price check them out first.

This heater does a great job of heating my 24x26 two car garage in northern Indiana. It arrived from the seller within 48hours of placing my order with standard delivery. The only thing that keeps it from being a five star is lack of a mounting assembly. A little bit of chain wrapped around a ceiling joist took care of that though. It does require a special 240 volt outlet, but the materials to run it can be purchased at any home improvement store. It took me about 20 minutes to run the wire and install the outlet and breaker.

I live in Texas and have a 520 sq ft garage with ceiling/walls insulated, 1 car garage door not insulated and 3 windows. I checked around for code requirements in our area and wired the 240 v/30 amp electrical myself. Mounted the unit hanging down from the ceiling, turned it on and in 2 hours it already had the upper half of the garage up to 60f degrees when 35f outside. Let it run overnight and the garage was 75f next morning....low to mid 30s outside. Thermostat on the unit turns off the fan and heater coils once chosen temperature is reached. Shipper had issues getting the unit shipped... stated waiting for manufacture to ship. Per Amazon's recommendation, I had to send a followup e-mail to shipper to get status of shipment. After that, the shipper sent status mails until the unit had a shipping tracking number. If you need this unit, order early. Took 2 weeks to arrive from the day I ordered it. For our needs ... great price, compact unit and heats as expected.

We bought this for our very modern dining room and everone just LOVES it!! I will say it is one of the cheaper ones and the craftmenship is not amazing. The first one we got the edges were not completely flush and my boyfriend being the perfectionist that he is, was no happy with it, So we called amazon to send it back and get a new one. Note to buyer, these are considered "hazardous" and are not returnable. So amazon sent us a brand new one FREE, and we got to keep the old (which we put in our bathroom over the tub). Overall we are very happy and think it was a great buy.

I really really love this fireplace and am so happy I decided to get it! It has a nice matte finish that I personally like a lot. The build quality is good as well. Here are some little notes that I feel may be important to a potential buyer:

The fireplace is pretty heavy. You must mount this properly. Basically you are putting 3 screws in your wall and then mounting this fireplace on these 3 screws. One important piece of information is that the manual states that AT LEAST one of the 3 screws must be secured in a wall stud (assuming you have drywall.) What I did was put the middle screw in a wall stud and the other 2 screws I secured using a high quality/heavy duty plastic anchor (not included.) This process is by no means difficult but it requires that you put a little thought into where and how you will mount this.

The gel fuel that is meant to be used for this fireplace is pretty damn expensive. It does provide some decent heat and looks really awesome though. Also, if you sit too close to it does have a bit of a chemical smell. My default setup for this fireplace is placing some nice decorative candles on the fire place (there is a black metal piece that covers the 3 gel fuel holes when they are not being used...I place said candles on top of this.)

-All in all I absolutely love this fireplace and so has everyone else who has visited my home. Highly recommend!

I bought two of these in the same order and neither one of them worked properly. The threaded fittings were loose, making the fit of the two pieces wobbly. Eventually, they both just fell apart. Woodland Direct was really good to deal with and has agreed to refund my money without making me mail the things back. I wish I could say who does make a good blow poke these days, but I am still searching. Too bad Plow and Hearth changed their design. Those were great ones.

The blow poker looks good and the "blow" function really helps get a fire going. It ships in 2 pieces with a threaded connection between the lower tube and the handle/mouthpiece. This is a weak point, both in terms of manufacturing tolerances and strength of the poker. We had to replace the first one, which came with the threads stripped. Minuteman was great about doing the replacement no objections and fast service, and the second one fits together snugly. However it will never be a heavy duty poker: neither the thickness of the steel tubing nor the threaded connection are designed for use as a lever on big logs.

To be fair, it isn't priced like a heavy duty unit either. So, as a moderately priced unit for the weekend fireplace user, it's fine.

After looking for something that would accomodate our unique fireplace size, we found this and the height is perfect. A lot of standard screens were an inch short. The doors are nice to tend the fire without having to remove it Two front feet and one center rear adjustable to accomodate brick. It is a very nice quality and is in no way a flimsy box store screen. I will buy this again if I ever have to replace it from heat exposure, but after more than 25 fires, no signs of any distortion or discoloring.

We also needed something that we could use to keep our then 3 y/o from grabbing onto and tipping over like the foldable version it replaced. This sits close enough to the fireplace that it doesn't give wandering children pause to play with it. It could also be attached to the brick if one desired.

We find cleaning it is best done by vacuuming it with a brush attachment. Ash does tend to collect on the lower portions of the screen

The only downfall, and is a downfall with any screen with doors, is there are gaps that are subject to embers escaping if you prefer burning crackling wood like hemlock. We have had two such rug burners so far. We have had no issues while burning hardwoods.

This is an attractive screen and blends in well with a turn of the century fireplace. Only complaint is the nuts used to hold the rear feet are not fitted well with the bolts and are very cheap.
