I recently bought this for a fireplace made with inlaid stone that's uneven in places. The screen stays in place well enough but it's a tipping hazard if kids pull on it at all. It does have two feet in the front to prevent tipping forward and it's probably a lot more stable on a flat surface. The screen looks good and I like having the doors.

This screen is total crap. Just got it today, and set it up. Was not as described. First of all, there is a swinging lock on the front of the two doors. Not a bad thing, just didn't expect it. Second, the legs are small and completely worthless. They do nothing to prevent the screen from tipping over. Third, the panels WILL NOT STAY FOLDED. Instead, they continuously fold straight, and since the legs are worthless, the whole screen keeps falling. And if you do manage to get it to stay standing, as soon as you open the doors, the weight of the doors plus the swinging lock causes the entire thing to fall down. Very light and cheap-feeling. We've had this up for about 8 weeks now. Only adjustment was that I needed to add one small washer where the legs attach so that it doesn't tip forward on our rustic brick hearth.Very pleased with appearance and ease of building fires behind it.

I should have done research on MDF fiberboard before I bought this. It is basically wood particles bound together with formaldehyde, and this screen smells like it. I've left it out in the back yard the last couple days, hoping the noxious smell will go away. So far it has only lessened a bit. If by tomorrow I can't leave it in a shut room overnight without the entire room reeking the next morning, this is going back.
Looks nice enough and would have fulfilled my purpose for it (too small to block an average size fireplace, but large enough to hide some plumbing I don't want showing in my finished basement). I'm not willing to get cancer for it though. Formaldehyde is a known carciongen, which is why it amazes me that people tolerate this stuff being put in home products. The physical size of this product is nowhere near what is listed and labeled. The size is supposed to be 31 X 44 inches. In fact the maximum dimensions are 27 X 35 inches. As a result it does not fit where we intended. Love the design, it is too cute. I use it to conceal my cats litter boxes in our family room. It really hides them and adds to the decor, however, it is poorly made, the hinges for folding are sooo cheap and were all bent and distored due to being too small for the heaviness of the screen and the size of the box it was delivered in! It came in a box twice the size of the screen with only a small little bubble pack inserted over the top of the picket fence. Maybe that is how the hinges got so bent? Do not know, but they are too small to hold the weight of the screen. This item is very pretty but it is barely long enough to cover my fireplace opening. I have to have it flat against the fireplace . It looks awkward. I don't know why they put these measurements because it is no where close to being that big....

I felt like I was shopping for a TV stand for years when I found this one and it was a great choice. For someone who has put together furniture like this before you'll find the setup is very easy and straightforward, took me about 90 minutes by myself (I'd recommend two people though, could easily shave off 30 mins with another set of hands). As someone with three small children I was very concerned with finding a stand that was sturdy and not a safety risk, I can't imagine a stand with legs any sturdier than this one... it's not going anywhere! I feel it looks even better than in the picture, it's certainly one of the nicest pieces of "put it together yourself" furniture I've ever owned. Packaging was also very good, not a scratch on it when I got it, and it would take quite a feat to mess it up in shipment.
Pros:

-Higher quality door latches then similarly priced items
-Value from all the other stands I've seen this could easily sell for 2x as much
Cons:
-Glue! Gluing the little dowels was tedious, but adds to the sturdiness and clean look
-Height The dimensions are listed and are correct but my personal preference would have been something a bit taller, the image in the item description didn't help matters, just measure it out before you buy.
-Hardware Most furniture like this comes with a couple extra screws and dowels, not one spare to be found here, not that I needed it but there was a brief moment of panic when one of the screws ended up in the trash pile.
Bottom line, if you're looking to spend under $400 on a TV stand and don't need something 4' high, you cannot go wrong here.

I ordered this based on previous customer reviews on amazon.com and it did not disappoint. This is not a piece of furniture from a fancy store, so if you set your expectations right you will not be disappointed. It is well packaged, looks good, is solid and was easy to build. It took me a little less that 2 hours for the build (though I do have experience with a lot of Ikea furniture of all sizes). I've heard a lot of people complain about rusting with these. You have to care for them properly to avoid that. Properly seasoned cast iron is very nearly indestructible if maintained. When you get it, wast it out, let it dry completely, then wet a cloth in vegetable oil, and wipe on a thin coat inside and out. Bake it at 400 degrees for half an hour. IGNORE THE SMOKE. IT'S FINE! it will smoke a LOT though. Open a window for ventilation. After the half hour bake time, let it cool, then repeat the oiling and baking two more times. When you are done, it's properly seasoned. Redo it two or three times a year. We use ours over the open fire when we are camping. It's awesome to have hot water for tea, cocoa, and even dish washing.
BTW, that seasoning method keeps your cast iron skillets in prime shape too. If any cast iron cookware gets crusty and you cant scrub it clean, put them in an electric oven, and turn on the self-clean feature. When it cools down, wire brush the crud off, and follow the seasoning instructions above, :-)

This is great as a decorative peace, however not so good as a functional tea pot or humidifier. We use ours on our fire place insert as a humidifier when the fire place is going. It rusted out rather quickly even before I refilled it a sencond time. Buy with caution! I received this product a week or so ago, and I am very satisfied with it. That is because I purchased it for the purpose it was made for. As a humidifying steamer pot for your wood stove top! Not as a teapot for brewing tea... So I don't really care if minerals deposit on the inside, or if it even rusts a little! Because it is serving the purpose it was designed for. I'm sure I might have even been able to avoid the rust if I decided to season it with some oil, but I had no intention of cooking anything in it... If you are looking for a teapot to brew tea in, I suggest you buy a teapot designed for that. Buy this one if you want to put it on your wood stove, and add a little moisture to the air. Besides, look at the price! It is one of the cheapest of it's kind out there, and it really has a lot of weight to it, which makes it nice and sturdy. Just saying...

It was hard for one person alone to assemble and the directions provided could have been clearer. would certainly not recommend but I guess I am stuck with it, since I don't want to go through the return process. Also, there were quite a few dings in the tv stand.This product was exactly what we needed for my son's apartment so that he could store all of his electronic equipment in a more organized manner. It is very sturdy, but had several nicks and dings, particularly in some of the corners. I realize that is probably a shipping challenge, but it also is a problem with how it is packaged. The color is very dark, probably more black than brown which worked well for our use. The product itself is very good and I'd recommend it. Shipping without damage is the challenge due to the packaging. For the record, the damage was not severe enough that we felt the need to return it, but we did use a black magic marker for some of the repairs. If we had been placing this in a very visible location, it would have been more of a problem.

My Frigidaire OWF-10303 Oslo Wall Hanging LED Fireplace arrived today and right away I unpacked it and set everything up. It arrived double boxed keeping the unit safely packed including the glass front. A double folded edge steel plate is included for wall hanging, this type of hanger is easy to use and strong. The fireplace weighs 44 lbs. so be sure to screw the hanger plate into at least two studs, the more the better. Once hanging or placed add the included opaque white stones along the bottom inside the firebox, they look like glowing coals when the LED flames are running. Next you need to mount he glass, it goes on very easy but does weigh a bit. Once running the fire looks almost real! you can change colors from green to red to blue or a combination of colors at once, I prefer the orange fire as it looks like a real fire. The heater is a basic resistance wire that looks like it came out of a hairdryer, I'd rather it have a quartz tube element but it is what it is. It gives off plenty of heat pushed by a blower with high and low settings, a vent in the top is where the heat comes out. You can run the LED flame with or without the heater running so it can be used year round. This would look great placed inside a regular fireplace, it fits in mine and looks very real in that location. A remote control is included too, you can control the heat settings plus change the LED flame color. I do hear motor noise when the LED flame is running alone,it isn't loud but noticeable if near the unit.

We were able to repair it enough to assemble it and get it working safely, so I would like to share my thoughts on the product for those thinking about purchasing this.First of all, I love the look of this "fireplace." It is sleek, like a flat screen TV. The colors are vivid, and the rocks give it a nice touch. It comes with a remote to change the colors and to turn the heat settings on and off. I've been using the remote from my bed, which is several feet away, and it works fine. In that regard I am very happy with it. So why only 3 stars?
For as much as this item costs, I think it would have been better if it also came with some sort of crackling fire sound. I realize this would then require speakers of some sort, which may not have been compatible with the heating unit, so I am not really taking stars off for that. However, the unit does give off a bit of white noise, which is a bit annoying. Also, at close glance, the LED "fire" looks a bit cheesy and unrealistic. The remote control, while convenient, gives off an annoying beep when the unit is turned on and off. It also beeps each time you want to change the color settings. There should be a way to turn this off, or just get rid of it completely. It would also be nice if the screen had an indiscreet on/off switch separate from the remote, so that this could be used with a timer.
There are two heater settings, which is nice. As with any type of space heater, I would not leave it on unattended for any extended period of time. We use a wood burning stove in the wintertime, but the upstairs bedroom remains cold, which is another reason I requested this. I am not sure if any long term damage will occur from the heater, but I don't see myself using it that often except for a few hours in the evening, so I am not overly concerned about this.
It may take more than one person to set this up. The unit is at least 40 pounds/18 Kilograms and needs to be mounted to the wall. The instructions say not to turn it on until it is completely mounted.
If this unit cost $100-150, I would have probably given it 4 stars. Like I mentioned before, I really like this item. It's a nice alternative to a night light or romantic ambient light. I just feel some improvements could be made to make this more worth the retail price. I do also have a high concern of any effects on my wall from the heater over a period of time, since this seems fairly new, I haven't found any reviews on problems, well honestly, if you search around, you'll find only reviews on Amazon at the moment.
It's not as quiet as I'd like it to be, while no it's not obnoxious, it's not soothing to sit on your couch and hear your wall fireplace not making fire sounds.This color changing fireplace adds a unique touch to any room. It's definitely a must have! You get to add to your decor PLUS in winter receive additional heating in a normally chilly room.

this one is compact and serve the purpose. it looks cute and not too flowery as I thought it would be. Phew.It has all the functions that are needed, no extra. Somehow it takes a bit more electricity (100W more) than the champagne color one, the taller style.

Advertised at 1000 Watts, now, after 1 year, is 478 Watts, and loses wattage each day it's used. This means it's outputting less and less heat.I submitted a claim to Soleus Air and they have not resolved the problem they only gave some explanation thinking they were right, but I sent them more details of the problem and they have not responded for over 1 month. Looking up my case number on their site, they consider this case resolved. It is not.
This is product is faulty and you won't get any reimbursements, so be careful, and buy a different brand, or a different heating technology like ceramic.
I will not ever buy a Soleus Air product again I do not want to support their company in producing poor quality products with poor customer support.

We purchased this exact same heater locally and we've been using it for about 45 days now. I was discouraged to see someone rated it so low because we are very happy with the heater we purchased. It has preformed beautifully in the time that we've had it.I will say this though, this is the sixth portable electric heater we've purchased and only a couple of the models have lasted longer than a year. We had a Delong that simply stopped working and I haven't been able to figure out why.
If this one lasts the entire year, without trouble, I'll be happy. :)

Despite all the negative reviews of this unit on Amazon.com, I found several other positive reviews elsewhere on the internet, and so I decided to give it a try. I'll admit I was skeptical as to how this unit would perform, especially since it seemed to be much less expensive than other 12,000 BTU units AND it included heat pump functionality. That being said, I am quite pleased with its performance so far.
After the terrible process of having to return a damaged portable AC unit of another brand just a week earlier, I was relieved to see when this one arrived at my door in rather robust packaging. Lifting it out of its "easy open" outer box and inner cardboard crate, I was able to observe its features in person for the first time. The multi-color display is a nice touch; the bright VFD display provides simple animations of the unit's current function, as well as a basic clock (used for setting the on/off timer), and the current temperature setting. The remote control sits in a holster on the back of the unit. I found the remote to be a bit bland, with all the buttons but the power button the same size and no distinction of the most frequently used buttons (i.e. temperature, mode) from the less frequently used extras (i.e. sleep mode, Celsius/Fahrenheit setting). The use of the remote is limited anyways since the display on the unit sits facing upward, preventing you from seeing what you are doing unless you are hovering above it.
Installation is pretty straightforward. The user's manual includes several photographs of the installation process, which doesn't differ much from any single-hose portable AC on the market. You simply screw the hose into the adapters and attach the adapters onto the back of the unit and onto the adjustable panel which you close in your window.
So now the important part: how it works. I found the unit to perform quite well. The AC function is plenty cool, and with three fan settings, you can adjust the level of output (and noise) to the current conditions. The heat pump also works well, and I was impressed with the fact that the unit waits to start blowing air into the room until the heat pump has begun generating warm air. That way, on a cold winter's day you won't get a rush of cold air in your face while the unit starts up. After your set temperature is reached, the unit shuts down completely (including the fan). Perhaps handy for some people is an auto mode which automatically heats if the temperature is below 68°F, dehumidifies if the temperature is between 68°F and 80°F, and cools if over 80°F. There also is an oscillation feature which helps circulate the air into the room.
As others have said, this AC unit is not super quiet. While in fan-only mode, the noise is minimal, but while heating, cooling, or dehumidifying, the exhaust fan in the back of the unit adds a considerable amount more. While nobody will be fooled into thinking a jet is landing, some may find it difficult to sleep with the unit in the room if it is doing anything but circulating air.
Just another quick note about draining the water bucket... be prepared to empty it no less often than most air conditioning units, regardless of what the manufacturer claims it can evaporate through the hose. I also agree with others who have said that the drainage plug is really close to the ground, so you may want to place it on a hard surface or elevate it slightly to assist in the drainage process. You do get a short hose and drip pan in the box to help you empty the moisture into a larger pan, but you may want to keep a towel handy as well.
Overall, this air conditioner/heat pump unit is a economical choice if you need all-season comfort in an area of your home. Various room-size estimations abound, some even rating this unit up to 500 sq. ft. My suggestion is that you use this unit for no more than a single large room, as you will probably see much worse performance if you try to heat or cool an entire floor with it. But for supplemental heating or cooling, you really cannot go wrong with the Soleus Air PH3-12R-03.

I had this AC unit for less than 1 months and it now SCREAMS! due to a bad pump. The manufacturer said they would "look at it" but I had to pay the shipping cost to ship to them in CA. Not worth the cost of the shipping, Total waste of money. NEVER buy from Soleus! Crap manufacturing, cheap plastic parts. poor warranty service. $400 just thrown away for something that only work for 2 months at best! I'd give zero stars if I could! DO NOT BUY, you have been warned!!!!!!I just bought this 3 weeks ago. After numerous window units I thought I would try a portable unit so I could direct the air where I wanted it. First of all this unit was difficult to install. The directions were terrible. I have had a lot less problem with my previous window units. 12,000 BTU's should cool my entire living/dining room. It works okay if you are directly in front of it, but 8-10 feet away just so so. It is as loud as any window unit I have had. It does not cool down to lowest temp so compressor is always on. After running it quite a bit for three days I just had to drain the condensation holding tank which was an experience in and of itself! The plug is on the bottom about a half inch from the floor. It is below the hose so you have to remove that. When you remove the cap, there is no type of plug, so the water immediately begins pouring into the pitiful plastic drainage tray that is provided that holds about 1/2 cup at the most. With a 1.5 liter tank to drain you need to also have a bucket or a bowl and plenty of towels as I found it impossible to stop the flow trying to empty the tray of water into the bucket. Long story short, don't waste your money. Way to expensive for the hassle. I'm going to go have a beer and make up with my dogs who are quivering outside after hearing my yelling of obscenities during the drainage process.I hope my review can save someone else the trouble and expense that I have endured, I purchased this unit for $420 and we used it for 1 month then put it away until the next summer well when next summer came around it didn't work just hot air comes out.We call soleus air to use the 1 year manufacturer warranty and indeed they have told me that I will get a new one but I have to ship the old one back at my expense which from michigan to california is $160 shipping and packaging but they don't tell you this and every other company I have ever used pays shipping on a defective product especially one that was only used for a month.
I have $600 into this unit now and they are sending a new one supposedly but what about when this one goes out then I have to pay another $160 to ship it back???? what kind of service is that? My mother purchased one of these units before she had central air installed and she got 2 months out of hers and threw it in the garbage rather than pay the shipping back which is probably a smart move.
I wish that I had asked my mother what brand unit she had before I bought mine it would have saved me $600 bucks and they can keep sending me their junk until one actually makes it a year or I get tired of spending $160 to send them back or get central air which I can't afford but at the price this has cost me I almost could have bought central air.
They were nasty about it on the phone too with the attitude that this is their policy and too bad if you don't like it so if you want to brave it and buy their junk go right ahead but don't say you weren't warned.
The junk companies like soleus air have their people put good reviews on their products it's been a practice of these junk peddlers for a long long time so that explains the couple of good reviews.This air conditioner/heater/dehumidifier is highly overrated by the manufacturer. 12,000 BTU should make your home feel like a refrigerator. It doesn't! It doesn't come close to the air cooling capacity of window units with less than half this rating. The drainage outlet is located way too close to the floor thereby not allowing for a hose to drain properly without elevating the unit. While there is a condensation overflow tank drainage again is an issue. I ran the unit for a solid eight hours at the lowest temperature setting/highest fan speed and the first floor of my small home was only marginally cooler. I was very disappointed as I had hoped this was the answer to both my cooling and heating needs.
