I currently have the fireplace floor standing but think it will look much better wall mounted. It is electric so the flame is basically a light bulb that flickers with a motor rotating foil. Looks decent but can def tell its a fake flame. The heat it produces is minimal and may be good for a bedroom but not anything much bigger. The heat is pushed out the top of the unit so nothing can be with 4ft of the top. Also since heat rises most of it goes right up to ceiling. I have a ceiling fan to help with this. The glass cover is nice and makes it look nice when hung on wall. The unit looks nice and modern and produces some heat. It's more for looks than for purpose.

I like this sleek contemporary black fireplace. The white coals are real and have to be placed on the bottom shelf before sliding on the black frame. Right now I am just using it for decoration. I haven't tried the heat settings yet. I placed it on the bottom shelf of my baker's rack. I removed the top shelf of my baker's rack because the instructions say to leave a specified amount of space at the top when the heat is on. I chose this product because a similar product from another store was sold out. I like this product better because it can be either wall mounted or free standing. The product I originally wanted was 36" wide and wall mount only. I think it may have been dangerous to mount the other 36" wide product on the wall. This one is just right for me.

Received this today, in 2 cartons. Put it together in about 1 hour. The top of the fireplace is heavy, and I thought I would not be able to do it by myself (I'm a 64-year old woman), but I decided to turn it upside down and put it together. Worked perfectly. BEFORE PURCHASING CORINTH ELECTRIC FIREPLACE MEDIA CONSOLE-I contacted the seller by email twice b/f placing order to get all my concerns taken care of about product features, function and shipping. Seller was very prompt in replying back and made me feel at ease in order from them (first time). Over the years, I have noticed that when shipping is offered free sometime the item is not well taken care of in transit. Not in this case, the box did show some minor abuse, but items were well packed and no harm was find to products at all. Instructions was simple, if you sit down and study it first, and all necessary hardware was included. Unless you are a super strong patient person, it will require two people to put the top on. After that you insert the electric heater in, screw it in place and you're done. My husband and I love vintage cherry fireplace. Our purpose was not the heater per se, but the fireplace itself as a beautiful piece of ornate designed furniture in our bedroom. So cozy & romantic to watch the quiet colorful flames at nite w/o heat.

I would highly recommend!!!

I was looking for this item locally but the stores did not have it.

This was ideal. It has a width of about 1.5 inches. The adhesive does stick to anything and that is what I wanted. The fiberglass wool strip does not fall apart and it a little more than an inch thick. I placed the strips of fiberglass wool on the fireplace metal

frame and pushed the frame with the doors onto the brick structure. I sealed the frame to the brick with high heat clear silicone sealer which was available online. It tolerates heat to 500 degrees. No smoke leaks out into the home. I also put in a new damper which I found at Amazon.com and it came in caste iron for the exact size of the original. It slipped into the slot in less than a minute and it has been working fine since weeks. As an after thought, I should mention that I bolted the frame back into the fireplace opening with the old bolts into the same holes. The silicone sealer was just for good measure and I do not like smoke coming into the house.

I ordered this stuff along with some new folding fireplace doors, because Amazon suggested it and I thought it might help seal gaps. This stuff should be required for all door installations; it was easy to cut, not so easy to remove the tape seal, but adhered very well to my new metal doors. It sealed ALL gaps in my masonry fireplace, brick and mortar. If I ever install another set of doors I'll definitely buy another roll of this stuff.

This product worked just as described. I put it around the perimeter of my new fireplace doors to help make them airtight when not in use. One tip for installation: place the self-stick backing about a 1/4 inch in from the outer edge of the door frame so you can't see it once installed. If any insulation is visible, just gently poke it in and you won't see it. I had just a tad left over from my project, so just the right amount.

Really a great tool for the price.

The wheels aren't the best, but better than most Chinese stuff.

You can get replacement wheels from Dorian or other "premium" brands for a fair price and then yoou have a superb tool for the hobbyist.

If you're knurling hard steel on a small lathe that can't take the pressure on the headstock, get a "Scissor" knurler instead. Costs more but doesn't beat up yoour machine and destroy your bearings.

Replacement grates for the BIS 2 (by security chimney) are no longer to be found on their website. I have replaced mine twice in the last 23 years. The purchase price through a warehouse has now risen to >$150. Buy one of these! Then get out your hacksaw. Cut the first bar on each end off.....make the cut even with the second bar on the back side. Also cut the center support even with the second bar. Leave the front full width (creating tabs on the front, that stick out to the left and right) by making the final cut to remove the end bars from the side, just behind the front cross bar. You will find that a little final grinding, or filing, of these two tabs will allow this grate to fit snugly into the ash pan of your BIS. I bought two; one for now and one for 7-8 years in the future when this grate "burns out." Be aware that the measurements listed for the G42 on many websites are simply incorrect. I called customer service a US Stove and got a lady with a wonderful Tennessee accent, who very kindly verified the true dimensions of this grate. This is a must if you are trying to use it for an application like mine. Good luck with your project.

I ordered this product not knowing what it would look like, and my expectations were really not high. WOW, was I wrong. This is a most ingenious device, and it is just beautiful. We placed it inside a real fireplace for our Christmas holidays. Living in the south, it's rarely cold enough for the trouble of a real fire. But, this product gives you the ambience of a fire without the trouble (or heat). Although, if you stare at it long enough, you begin to feel warm, regardless of the fact it's only an illusion. It is truly mesmerizing, and many visitors just assume it's a real fire until we tell them to take a closer look. The fan is fairly quiet too, and is hardly noticeable if there are any other activities going on. I think you can have a lot of fun with this, in many different settings. The sellers are great too, and when I emailed them with a question, they responded the very next day!

I was looking for a light-weight rice cooker for oversea travel (i.e., 220v) and this product seemed to be only one available in U.S. I brought it with me to Germany three weeks ago but after 5 uses it stopped working. I tried hard to diagnose the problem myself but could not figure out what's wrong the light would still go up but it just no longer heats up. This really sucks. I don't know who is to blame the product itself or the distributor (I bought it from Bombay Electronics. They shipped me an Arabic version even though the original web page said it has English manual...)

Aesthetics: Minimalistic design, very modern. A plain while box, not quite a cube, with a plastic front allowing you to see the fake embers and fire. The embers light up and has a very pleasant glowing. The fire has a nice effect as well. Not perfectly realistic, but as good as any fireplace heater I have seen. The glow setting looks very nice provides just enough light while not being distracting.

Heat Settings: Once turned on, the heat starts up right away. On the low setting, it generates a nice warmth, enough for maybe a small bedroom. On the high setting you can warm a medium size bedroom. I cam currently using it in my living room and it maintains the temperature well. It does not have a thermostat, so you cannot set it to a specific temperature and it will not automatically turn on or off. You will need to turn it off if once you reach a comfortable temperature.

Overall: It is a great value. The simple modern design is perfect for taste. It does the job for a fraction of the price of many similar sized fireplace heaters.

I saw this product advertised in an online article about exciting new products and I was instantly in love with it. I ordered it in orange and I feel that this color helps to amplify the flame effect. It definitely can't fool you into believing it might be real, but it's beautiful nonetheless. I hardly use anything other than the glow setting, but the heater works really well too. Upon seeing that the white one was over almost 25% off for a short period of time, I took advantage of the deal to order a second one to use in my office. I wish they made one that was a little bigger, maybe more rectangular, but overall I am tremendously satisfied with my purchases.

I do like the size of this unit and it heats well enough. The fireplace look is a nice addition. I did find the design functionality limited. You can't turn off the fireplace lighting if you just want the heat, and there's no temperature shutoff. It's either ON or OFF, with no auto shutoff once the room reaches the desired temperature, and no remote; which means you have to get up and go shut it off manually. Also, I would have like to see this offered in more than 3 basic colors, ie. black, or brown would have been nice.
