This is a great desk for a small space, and works perfectly in the corner of the living room of my 1br apartment. It's sturdy and stylish, with inside room for my laptop on one side and a pile of papers on the other. The fold-down top makes a very sturdy surface on which to type (I have a somewhat heavy hand on the keyboard). I use the laptop with a flat-panel monitor on top and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo (that stores on top of the laptop when the desk is closed). I set up my screen saver as a slideshow of photos so that when the screen saver is on, the monitor on top of the desk acts like one of those digital photo frames. If I have any complaints, it's the accessibility of the drawer when the desk top is open -it can be reached by lifting the keyboard shelf/lid but it's difficult, and best reached when the desk is fully closed up.

The first desk I ordered was delivered with a lot of damage. It had obviously been dropped somewhere, because when it arrived the top of the desk was in pieces.I sent it back to Amazon directly and the customer service was great, we got the problem resolved and the only issue was the extra wait for the new item and having to re-box a large bulky item and ship it back to Amazon.
The desk that was shipped to me next came in good condition. Assembly was simple, bolt the four legs to the desk. Everything else is pre-assembled.
The fasteners, and hardware are pretty good quality, the unit is solid and the legs are even, but as far as the quality goes...it's still mostly press board (if not all, it's hard to tell).
The Chinese have figured out a way to give a real-wood patina to this stuff, so when you look at it there is grain on the surface and it looks nice. But the unit that came damaged had the surface broken, and I could see that it was all "composite" wood. So if you buy this, you can expect a "solid" desk, just don't expect real wood.
Overall though, it's a good looking desk that serves my laptop needs. This desk exceeded my expectations. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy and solid. The design allows a chair to move freely in every direction. When it's closed it doesn't take up much space. It's solid, versatile, and well-designed. Don't expect high quality wood, but it looks presentable.

This portable space heater by Lasko helps to cut my electric bill. At first I wasn't sure if should get this or a space heater that works with oil inside of it; but I'm glad I got this one instead. It couldn't be easier to set up--just take it out of the box and plug it in! Although you should read the four pages of instructions in order to be familiar with general precautions and to know how to use the timer feature and a couple other extra features, it amazed me just how intuitive it is to get this thing up and running.
In addition, it's easy to lift--it's very lightweight, especially after you remove it from the box; and there's a neat timer function so that you can "program" this to turn off at a set time up to 8 hours in advance. Great! The machine also turns on or off automatically depending on how close it is to making your room the exact temperature you specify by pressing the plus and minus buttons to set temperature.
After you turn it on, be aware that within 20 to 30 seconds you're going to feel the heat begin to blast upward from this unit, so don't get too close to the top of it after you turn it on. Another cautionary note, at least according to the instructions, is that the device can possibly leave a permanent stain on hardwood or similar floors. If this is a concern for you, keep looking for another portable space heater. My carpeting is practically industrial strength and I have plenty of extra pieces of the carpeting in one of my closets so I personally am not too concerned about any staining that may or may not result from my using this heater.
Overall, this is a great little heater that pleasantly surprised me when I realized just how powerful it really is. Although it's not for everybody (i.e., people with hardwood floors may want to stay away) it suits me fine and I recommend it for heating rooms up to roughly 300 square feet especially when the floors are not hardwood.

This space heater is super quiet and easy to use. It heats up instantly. The only negative thing I have is that sometimes, the heater will stay on even though the temp displayed is five or more degrees higher than the set temp.Read Best Reviews of Lasko Silent Room Heater Model # 5620 Here
Nice floor level space heater that literally makes no noise. It does take a little bit to warm up a decent sized room, but what I like is there is no noise. Convenient remote control, digital temperature read out, takes up very little space. Would recommend to assist central heat. I would not count on this unit to heat a home. Would purchase again, acutally I did. I bought a second one for grandma's kitchen...After trying a stand up convection heater which took 7-9 hours to heat up our living, dining and kitchen rooms (about 400 sq feet of a 900 sq. ft apt.), we decided to try another type of heater. This heater is the best for this purpose. We do close off the bedrooms and bathrooms but this heater only takes two to three hours to heat up our living room, dining room and kitchen areas. We live in san diego and it is usually about 62 degrees in the mornings here. We warm the apt to about 71-72 degrees. I think that it would warm faster if we had decent insulation in the building and better insulated windows (Including a sliding glass door) but it is an apt so we cant change that. The apt was built in the 60's and management won't go for upgrading anything. What I am saying is if you have a better insulated house or apt you prob don't need to section off rooms by closing doors and it will prob even heat up faster. I would def. recommend this heater for heating a apt. I love it. It does have a countdown timer built into itself that will turn it off after 1-8 hours, but not one that will turn it on at a certain hour of the early morning. It also won't work with a timer plug to turn it on at early hours of the morning either because of the built in timer interferes with this function. Buy it. You will be happy if you have been trying to find some alternative to decently heat your apt.WORLD MARKETING OF AM. HC451 DISC FURNACE HEATER

I purchased this heater about three or four years ago. It has worked trouble-free since then. It is compact for easy storage when the weather is warm, and it works very well for heating a small to medium-sized room.
It has a cut-off switch, if it's accidentally turned over, and it has a variable heat knob with a thermostat. It is also possible to run the fan without any heat, for simple air-circulation -although my Vornado fan does a better job.
I must admit that if I had read a couple of the previous reviews of this product before I actually bought it, I might have been worried and maybe not have purchased it. But my heater has worked perfectly with many, many hours of continuous use. So, I highly recommend it.
As for company customer service, I have no idea because I haven't had to contact the company for any reason.
Just one person's experience. I hope this helps.

this little heater is not inexpensive to purchase but it works as well as those twice and even larger in size. The porcelain "chips /wafers" , whatever , serve as the heating element instead of wire resistors as in other plug-in fan type heaters and I have not compared electrical draw but it's small, quiet, and it heats a space like much larger heaters would. I am very pleased with the product and would buy another if I didn't live in such a small space. Perfect for instantly heating your bathroom and it also has a temperature setting so you can use it to regulate heat in your space just as you would any temperature controlled heating device.Buy WORLD MARKETING OF AM. This is absolutely one of THE best heaters ever! I purchased this heater last year and absolutely love it! Two things that I was looking for in a heater were a tip-over switch and a thermostat...and this heater has both of those things. The excellent customer service was a bonus. I had a few questions and called the 800 number and got a live person (something you can hardly get these days). I noticed that two people wrote that their heaters caught fire, but maybe they didn't clean the filter? It has a dust filter in the back that you have to clean every once in a while. Anyway, I love this heater and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!Read Best Reviews of WORLD MARKETING OF AM. HC451 DISC FURNACE HEATER Here
I checked with the manufacture before returning this unit for credit. The heater is designed go to a low power output when the desired temperture is reached but not to turn off. I like to leave a heater on in a small office to keep the chill off some plants during cool nights and weekends. So I don't forget to turn it on I leave the heater power on and the thermostat set to turn the heater on when the room gets chilly. With this heater not turning off the room gets way to hot on a relitivly warm day. With people becoming more and more energy concious I can't believe a manufacture would design a heater that does not turn off when it is no longer needed for heat.Want WORLD MARKETING OF AM. Very disappointed! The control knob for powering on/off/fan/heat broke after only a 7 weeks of use. Poor Pelonis customer service that do not respond to emails. Shipped the item back to Pelonis (about $10 USPS), and a replacement was shipped back, very poorly packaged--actually no packaging, just the flimsy cardboard box the heater comes in.I bought this heater because I have an original Pelonis Disc furnace that is about 20 years old... not heavily used, but always worked great. My wife wanted a heater to keep her outdoor cats warm in the attached garage during the real cold periods of winter. So I looked for another Pelonis disc furnace as I wanted to still use my original in the basement, and the newer models seem to have additional 'safety' features.
While getting this one replaced, I purchased a HeatSafe HS-4025 ceramic heater that I like much better as it has a lower 1000W setting as well as the 1500 Watt setting. The Pelonis HC-451 only has 1500 watt, which will trip your circuit breaker if being used by other electric appliances.
And the HeatSafe was about half the price of the Pelonis HC-451.
Oh yeah! The best thing for keeping your outdoor cats warm (I'm allergic to furry animals, so they can NOT be in the house!) is a "Heated Kitty Pad". I bought 2 of these for my wife's cats, and they just love them !

I purchased this to hold our stockings as we do not have a mantle or mantle holders. This is made of a good quality wrought iron that has a beautiful design and looks awesome near our tree. It is very sturdy and well built. It holds a good deal of added weight (full stockings) and is very stable. My only con about this item would be the price. This item is severely overpriced on Amazon.
Aside from the pricing issues, this is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We just moved from a big house that had a big fireplace with a mantel to a super small house perfect for 3 with no room or place for stockings, with older kids off to college I still wanted to display their stockings for when they came over, day after Xmas, so this was the PERFECT stand for 5 stockings and room for 1 more. It was pretty and sturdy even with all the goodies inside (:

Fairly well made, nice looking wrought iron stand. Much better than a cheaper, less attractive stocking stand I had. Easy to put together. Tended to lean after I first put it together, so I had to work at getting it straight. Not cheap, but I'm very happy with it. Nice place to hang stocking when you don't have a hearth. Haven't had filled stockings on it, yet, but the stand is solid and I'm not worried about its ability to hold filled stockings.Uniflame Single Panel Black Wrought Iron Screen with Doors

I bought this to keep my 2 cats from getting into the fireplace. Because of some little feet on the back, it doesn't sit flush with the front of the fireplace. There's some space there, but so far, it's done its job. One other thing--it's not super heavy, so when you open the doors, it tilts forward and you have to keep your hand on the frame and kind of work one-handed. We live in an old farmhouse with high ceilings that is very drafty downstairs. We heat primarily with our wood stove which does an average job, however the wood floors can be quite cold.I was looking for something to circulate the heat more efficiently. This fan is just what my cold feet needed,I am very pleased with the design and this thing is built like a tank!My husband is going to do some temperature measurements over the weekend to see how effective it is (yes he is a geek)Having owned an Ecofan in the past I can tell you this is worth paying a little more.I will update later...

Man is this thing well built, truly like a tank as another review stated... something this robust is very rare these days. I expect it may outlast my woodstove. But beyond it's unusual robustness, it also works and it is incredibly silent. I've used it for the past 3 years on my new woodstove insert. My prior woodstove insert included an integrated fan which was incredibly noisy and unreliable. I definitely wanted to steer clear of an integrated 120V fan and I can get away without one (the ceiling fan helps), but this thermoelectric fan does help spread some heat to the lower areas around the woodstove when I first fire it up. And if lose power in my home in the winter, this fan becomes the only means to help spread the heat. One thing to note... this fan directs air to flow opposite it's natural flow. So, while the hot air naturally rises from the woodstove, this fan pulls air from the top and blows it down or actually angled down somewhat and to the sides. I wonder if this fan could be redesigned (with the same technology and robustness) to flow air from bottom to top (like a normal woodstove fan works) and if this would be better. It probably gets complicated and depends on a lot of things. I am pretty sure however that the fan as is does help the lower area around the stove feel warmer when the stove is first fired up (before the entire room is heated up).
Buy Thermoelectric Self-Powered Woodstove Fan Now
I sent my ecofan original back and got this for my 10,000 btu Sengoku OR77 Omni Radiant Kerosene Heater running at 275*F and it does a great job sending the hot air angling downward all around it. I also tried it on my 23,000 btu dynaglo in the basement running at 350*F and since it's only a half-inch bigger around than the heater, the air went out mostly horizontally but even faster and no hot air was detectable above either heater. The seller isn't very eager to provide info here but you can search the web for pics and specs (and prices). It's a lot bigger and heavier than the ecofan but much more effective and robust and it's not that much more expensive than the heavily taxed canadian product so it's really a bargain.Read Best Reviews of Thermoelectric Self-Powered Woodstove Fan Here

I originally bought this set for my son as a gift. My husband and I were so impressed with it, that we turned around and purchased one for ourselves. The set is very sturdy. It sits nicely on our hearth and does not "wobble" around. Our old set, which was a brass one with oak handles, was not nearly as sturdy as this set. (Our old set also cost significantly more than this set!) The wrought iron has a smooth finish to it; the center weave gives the set a nice look; and, the tools all look well made. So far, they have worked out great. (As a side note, for those buyers also interested in a log holder, we also bought the "Uniflame Black Wrought Iron Log Rack with Scrolls." Received gift for my b-day. Could not wait to get home to set it up which I imediately did. Was the easiest A into Zs I have ever done.
Cleaned the glass, fueled it up with CO-Z FIRE ETHANOL fire place fuel and then set it on my large coffee table.
I poured a glass of wine, lit the fuel, adjusted the damper, turned off the lights to enjoy my new apartment sized fire place. AND wella, I was transported back in time, when fire places had a job to do in the home for warmth, cooking and comfort. I was imediately soothed, and all the tension and stress fell away.
I thought of my dinner parties where I could set the movable fireplace on my bar... the patio, where I eat, sit to relax and swing.... the bedroom............
the possibilities of placement is endless. I guess it can be transported out of the home to anothers.
This is not 5 star because the fuel is very expensive. You can save fuel by damper adjustment, but it still burns fairly quick.
Don't hesitate to purchase this as the pleasure you will have is endlessly worth it..
The odor from the fuel was minimal and not unpleasant to sensitive me.

We saw this in a museum shop in Pittsburgh (for about 25% more!). It is exquisite as a piece of art on our glass coffee table in our living room. Ours came with a funnel and says to fill it 2/3 (or maybe 3/4) full but there seems to be no markings on the fuel-holder thing so I've learned to use a full 8oz. measuring cupful and that works perfectly for us. It gives several hours of lovely ambiance and romantic atmosphere before we go in to dinner. I'm messy and spill a bit. Be sure to wipe up any excess spilled fuel before you light it (with a long match or a long lighter). Buy it. Or go to Pittsburgh and spend $20 or more additional. And don't expect to fill it tonight and use it tomorrow as the fuel evaporates and it IS expensive.

Not exactly what I thought it would be but it's nice. They should think of adding a filler funnel with the item because you need it to put fuel in it. When you light it and only a small amount of fuel remain you get a woosh... of flame, must be from fumes in the trough. I recommend it with the above comments.Fuel expensive as uses a lot. Mt. Vernon Combustion/exhaust Blower
List Price: Price Unavailable
Sale Price: $242.99
Today's Bonus:
My exhaust blower on my Mt Vernon pellet stove went gunnybags at the 8-year mark (started screeching punctuated by other raspy sounds). I purchased this replacement exhaust blower as it was slightly cheaper than I could get elsewhere. When the box arrived the flange of the fan-cage was sticking out the side of the box and was slightly bent. This did not pose a big problem as I simply took a pair of pliers and bent the thin sheet metal flange back straight. Unfortunately the white felt "gasket" that came with it had been torn in two in several spots as it had been sandwiched between the bottom of the heavy fan housing and the packaging box. The only packaging that had been put in the box was packing-paper and the weight of the fan was too much for the paper to have any dampening effect. Thus, the heavier fan jostled all about in the box during shipment protruded through the side of the box and tore the gasket up. After straightening the fan housing I was able to also patch the gasket back up. After assembly (see below) I was somewhat disappointed to hear than the fan had a harmonic "rumble." The rumble lasts for about 1 second and then is replaced by a second of relative quiet at which time the rumble resonates on again and so forth. Thus, while my stove is on I can hear a huuuuuuuuum.................huuuuuuuuuuuum.......................huuuuuuuuuuum etc. It is only somewhat irritating, but adds to the overall noise the stove makes in the corner of my living room. The box from the seller contained one complete exhaust fan, one white felt gasket and an instruction sheet for "how to" go about changing out the old fan with the new. The instruction sheet was adequate except that it left out that you need some high temp gasket cement (or similar product) to properly seal the friction-fit between the fan housing and the exhaust port on the back of the stove. I was able to get a product at my local hardware store called Meeko's Red Devil Gasketing Cement & Stove Sealer that I used for the purpose.
I have only average mechanical capability and the whole disassembly/reassembly process took about 2 hours and fifteen minutes. You have to take apart most of the back half of the pellet stove in order to replace the exhaust fan. The instructions were adequate but I took additional notes to remind myself which colored wires go back onto which electrical component etc. It was at times a frustrating journey that required double-jointed wrists, midget hands and patience. The biggest hang up you will encounter is removing and replacing the screws that connect the exhaust blower to the stove. Not a lot of room for a ratchet inside the stove cavity. Accordingly, the top right screw was the biggest bugger. An open-ended 7/16th wrench was the only tool to use and you can only get about 1/10th of a turn of the screw per twist of the wrist. Patience grassshopper.....in ten minutes you will have the screw out. On reassembly I would suggest only slightly tightening the other exhaust fan screws first as getting the "big bugger" screw started is difficult (you have so little finger room between the auger chute and end of the screw) and you need all the play you can get to achieve getting the screw threaded back into its hole.
Good luck weekend warriors!
