The only glitch on this heater is the picture of a digital reading on amazon's site. The heater came in with a sticker where the digital reading should have been. Set up was easy, I had a guy at lowes plumbing dept help me with the parts. Make sure and buy the leak checker fluid and watch for bubbles. I also used a flexible coil they use for gas stoves and dryers. The flexible hose also has a built in union so you don't have to install one. The heater works really well with a cracked window or overhead fan on to keep humidity down. The room heats up fast but does have some cool spots. It's ok for what we are using it for. There is an odor and will go away in time. The odor is not natural gas but the heater itself burning off impurities. The built in thermostat works well shutting on & off the heat on its own. After a few power outages last winter, we purchased this heater today and installed it. Wow! It adequately heats our living room and kitchen and if the downstairs bathroom door is left open, covers that as well. Model # IR30NGT uses a simple thermostatic control,Turns burner off or on.Burner is always on full burn when on. Model # BF30NGT uses a different thermostatic control,This model modulates the flame size,control knob can be set to any level between 1 and 5 ,setting 5 will cause the burner to stay on. Setting # 1 has a verry low flame,setting #2 and #3 put out a nice comfortable heat supply.Amazon sent me the BF model,I also have the BF20NGT,both operate the same.I used the Mr. Heater 12 foot hose assembly # F273720 to hook up the heaters ,Fan is switched off,on,auto. The fan on these units work OK. They wont blow you'r hat off but they do incress the air flow. It does a nice job, I bought it to be back-up heat if the power goes out. I wish it had a thermostat that had a lower setting as it kicks on around 66 to 68 but it still does a great job. I have not used the fan but where it is set-up in my house the fan is not needed.

This is a FANTASTIC heater but there are some things a new buyer should be aware of. It'll bring a 30x60x12 garage from 0 to 60 in about an hour and a half. However you really do need a 100 lb tank. You can get away with a 40 or 50 lb heating a smaller area on low otherwise the tanks will condense and shut off the gas flow to the heater. They are louder than you'd expect if you haven't used one of these before because of the blower fan. Think mini jet. I've also used the convection style heaters and depending on your needs these are both great. The convection style is much quieter but takes a fair bit longer to heat a large space and you won't get as even a heat in the room. I'm in the process of insulating and paneling a 12x30 portable building to be used as a workshop. During the winter it get's a bit cold here. I got this hoping it would heat the building enough to work comfortably. I couldn't. Kept having to turn it off after every 15 minutes of run time and wait 45 minutes to an hour before needing it again. That's a lot of heat from a device that's slightly larger than ones thigh. The unit arrived with a damaged electrical connection to the heating element. Northside Service Co. promptly sent a replacement element which was great. After a few months of use the white metal grill (looks like baked enamel or equivalent) started cracking and flaking off at the point where the most heat comes out. I emailed Northside about this and they kindly made it clear that they warranted the product for only 60 days that I needed to talk to Broan 1-800-637-1453. Broan (Trish) said that the sellers uphold the warrantee and not Broan. They added that Northside were not authorized sellers, and that as they serviced it previously they had taken on the responsibility of servicing the warrantee, and that I should go back to them. Bought these to arrange inside my fireplace. They look realistic when lit and have a nice light vanilla scent. I bought a bag of mexican river rocks (dark gray smooth rocks) from the home improvement store to scatter around them and the arrangement looks very nice. One of the candles has an issue that it doesn't work with the remote so I have to turn it on and off manually but since the others work fine, I will keep this set and deal with having to control one manually. These use AA batteries so it will be possible to use rechargeable batteries in these in the future. Not sure how long the original batteries will last. Duracell alkaline batteries came with the set. The fact that they used AA batteries was a plus for me because some of these units I saw used AAA or C batteries. We checked and our TV does not interfere with the remote. The packaging indicates these are imported by CostCo.These are a great product gives the candle look with out having to light them all! We purchased one of these last year when our heat pump was running constantly, and costing us a fortune in heating bills. When we received it, I was sceptical but watched my meter, and received my first bill. WOW! My bill was reduced over $100.00 that month. I am a believer, so I bought one for my daughter in college, who loves it too.The heater is powerful and blows air well. The problem is that a minor reason I purchased this was that I thought it would be quiet, but the blower makes a strange rattling noise. It isn't very loud, but it is noticeable. Worse, it is intermittent, so you can't even just get used to it.

I also bought the "Cedar Ridge" branded version of this but it is the same manufacturer and product. It is a basic gas log without any frills but it looks nice and is a very good value. Install was pretty straightforward and it has been working well. I purchased a Procom gas log set Model # 4222357 approximately 2 1/2 years ago from Lowes. Just about 1 year 10 months from the date they were installed they stopped working. I called the installer to check them and he quickly shut off the gas and took out the logs. At that point, he felt the logs were not safe to repair and reinstall. Part of the metal on the unit was actually melted. I called the company since they were supposed to have a two year warranty. After waiting about 45 minutes to get to talk with someone, I explained the situation and he told me to take pictures and send to them. I did this but after 3 weeks, still no response. I e-mailed them again only to get a response saying they would have to get more information and speak with the installer. To make a long story short, I purchased a new set of logs (not ProCom of course) and ended up disposing of the ProCom set. So like I say, no use dealing with customer service.
