I ordered these to use for welding base so it was ok they came damaged. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants all 6 to come intact. I bought these for my enameling station. I built them up like a house and put the very hot enameled piece into it so it cools slower and at a more even heat. I also use the extra blocks for soldering. They are thinner and longer then a normal brick which makes it allot easier to work with in the way I do. They are very affordable as well, at my local fireplace shoppe they were almost double! Even with the expensive shipping this seller has. I love to have fires in the fire place during the winter. I remembered salts from earlier that one could throw in the fire to color the flames. I purchased this Holmes oil-filled radiator at our local store. I've owned several different brands of oil-filled heaters over the years. My first one was a Lakewood and it was an excellent heater. They don't seem to be available anymore. My second was a Honeywell with digital controls, likewise an excellent heater while it lasted. I also tried and returned two different DeLonghi heaters. I don't like any of the heaters that have coils in them that glows red, just something about naked heat that scares me, therefore I decided to get one of these old fashioned oil filled heaters. I am very pleased with the set! The stiff lighter colored brush has been replaced with a black colored brush that works well with the shovel (see image gallery picture for new version). I am also very pleased with the size at around 18" tall (like stated) which is perfect for my apartment fireplace. You may want to spend more for a taller set if you have a larger home, but perfect to get the job done with limited space such as my small hearth. I am happy with this set for it works great with my small apartment fireplace. I would not recommend it for a large or normal size fireplace because of petite size. This was a 'last minute' Christmas gift while the gauge of metal and welds were good, I was disappointed the broom was not as it appears in the picture. The broom that comes with this set is awkward to use on narrow hearths the one in the picture would have been more effective for our need.
